Natural killer cells advice

Hello all x

I’ve been told I have elevated natural killer cells (22.1%). In October I was referred to Dr.Shehata at the Recurrent miscarriage unit . Still no appointment and when I rang today, they have said it’s looking like it may be March. Devastated it’s going to be so long a wait.

Thought about going private but is it super expensive?

Also has anyone been to Dr.Shehata and think he’s worth the wait?

Any advice welcome . Thank you x

Hi there. I have been to Dr Sheheta and definitely think it is worth it as I am 8.5 wks pregnant and going strong 🙏

I went privately and it took 2 months to get an appointment. I won't lie - it is expensive to have all of the tests and consultations, meds and scans. But after 2 miscarriages it gave me so much hope to try his treatment plan.

They also have a price list so you have a good idea of what it will all cost.

And anxiously going through pregnancy, the nurses have been lovely and the extra scans are reassuring.

Hope this helps Xx

Hello hun, although I haven't been to this particular Dr I did go to another clinic/Dr for uterine natural killer cell testing earlier this year, and am now pregnant (albeit early days) with my first transfer after following their advice/protocol (before getting the NKC protocol I had had 7 embryos fail). All that to say, I think it's really worth it to get NKC testing, and worth the wait even though it's so hard. I paid privately (no NHS option) and I think it was a 2-3 month wait before starting the testing. Wishing you all the best of luck.

Hello. Thank you for replying. It’s sounds like the private testing isn’t going to be much quicker . Congratulations after your really tough journey, I wish so much luck xxxxx

Hi, he is great. I go with him privately, the waiting time for the first appointment is between 1-2 months. You can try his CRP clinic. There are less people there. After 2 miscarriages and 2 chemical pregnancies, I have my 5th pregnancy under him and his team’s care. I am now 27 weeks pregnant and my baby is doing well. I still go there for my pregnancy scans.
