Can anyone offer and advice on NK cells tests and if it should be by biopsy or bloods. I’m getting conflicting information and don’t know which is best. I would obviously prefer the bloods and could possibly get these done closer to home.
Anyone know where I can get either of these tests in or near the North East?
Thank you xxx

I’m not 100% sure but I think there are two ways of looking at NKC . A biopsy of the uterine lining looks specifically at uterine natural killers cells. And blood test maybe just “general” ones. That was my understanding of it anyway 🥴🤔🤷🏻♀️
Hi, I was not aware there was an option of 'blood' testing but I had mine done (biopsy) at Coventry Hospital, where we had our ICSI cycles, and it was very well managed. (We now have a three-year old!) Take care. warwick.ac.uk/fac/sci/med/r...
Hi there, sorry for a delay in my reply. It was not a pleasant experience but manageable, and only lasts a few seconds. I decided against sedation - this can help if you feel you won't be able to cope with the pain. The second test also served as an endometrial scratch - and I got pregnant afterwards (via ICSI) so all in all, a very positive result. The biopsies ruled out NK cells issues.
ideally both! I only had bloods for my first three FETs and it meant I was on way too high a dose of steroids. As soon as I had the biopsy we realised my endometrial NKC were low while my bloods were high so we changed my treatment for my fourth and it worked… wish I’d done the biopsy years earlier than I did!
It was like getting a smear … a bit more uncomfortable and a little painful but it was over in seconds.
I had the results emailed and now waiting for a follow up next week. My results have come back as low so yes I think it will now change my treatment. I can let you know next week
