Natural Killer cells and immunology testing

Hi Ladies, I wanted to share some info I have read. It appears that it's very unclear whether immune therapies do more good than harm (on top oft harming our bank account). below a general article on the topic: ivf1.com/natural-killer-cel...

and a research report published on the topic.: ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articl...

I think that it needs proper investigation. I would be interested to have your views on the topic and if you have done some research. As treatments with intra-lipid can apparently be very expensive, it's definitively worth checking that it is a good thing and not detrimental.

These treatments remain unproven but clinics seem to see results from them, hence they get prescribed. Lately, I have seen clinics stop prescribing the steroids that they usually prescribe for "immune" treatment reasons, because these medicaments may worsen your Covid symptom, should you get infected while on IVF treatment. Therefore, whatever happens, you're likely not to be prescribed the full "immune" package as they would have previously prescribed to you.

I’m not sure whether you’re on instagrame but i follow ‘Tor Sanford’ - Frankie from the girlband The Saturdays’ sister.

She has recently undergone ivf due to ‘raised nk cells’ that she says has caused her to have multiple miscarriages in the past.

Shes at a clinic in London, its clear money is no object as she seems to have had every treatment under the sun. Iv’s numerous medications, weekly scans (she got pregnant). It seems to have worked for her.

Immunonolgy was always something that interested me as i thought that was the cause of my infertility. Its like a minefield though isnt it, sifting through all the conflicting evidence. Hopefully what you have found & shared can help others 🙂 xx

The difficulty is that we can never say that anyone got pregnant thanks to immunology treatment or despite the treatment. As it’s impossible to isolate the cause of success/failure. I don’t know what to believe

Hi Lilly. I would have a look at ww.hfea.gov.uk too as they are the governing body over the clinics. There is an interesting piece about "Add ons". Diane

Thank you I’m very I interested in this issue, looking into this before we progress with our 4th cycle. Read is your body baby friendly by Dr Beer, he published a book which I’ve found very helpful. Seems to be some research out there which supports biopsy rather than blood tests x
