NK Cells / Immune testing

Hi I am not sure if anyone can help me but I'm currently undergoing IVF on the NHS in Wales.

I have had 1 fresh transfer which ended in a miscarriage at 8 weeks and 2 failed FET's.

I am really interested in having immunology tests done including testing for NK Cells as I feel this could be a possible reason it's not working.

Can anyone recommend a good clinic either in Wales, Bristol or London for this as I'm sure they don't it on the NHS and possible costs involved?

Thanks for your help.

I don't have any advice on clinics for testing I'm afraid but hopefully one of the lovely people here will.

Google Dr Quenby at Warwick. It's private and not on NHS xx

Hello. I have been looking for a clinic also and have booked to have a consultation with Dr.Gorgy at the fertility and gynaecology academy in London. I found his name came up in a lot of forums. I can let you know how that goes if it helps? X

Hopeandwishes Oh that would be great. Did it take you long to get an appointment? Thanks

No, just a couple of weeks wait time. It’s in a couple of weeks. If I forget to reply, just give me a nudge! 🙈 I think he can do the consultation via Skype as well, so may save you traveling to London.

If you don't mind me asking, how much was the initial consultation? I'm just trying to work out costs. Thanks for your help.

No problem. £50 deposit and a further £175 I think. I need to talk through other things as well, so it’s not too bad from that point of view I guess.

That's about what I thought it would be. Thank you and good luck! I look forward to hearing how you get on. 🙂

Hi I've been to the Coventry and warwick hospital who do the utrine natural killer cells test by taking a biopsy from the womb. They do 2 biopsies, on 2 separate cycles as it's more reliable taking the 2 samples. It was quite a travel for me to get there but they are so helpful. I've already had my 1st biopsy and I'm due to have my 2nd biopsy next week. My consultant recommended Coventry as the biopsy test is supposed to be a lot more accurate than having the blood test which is what a lot of clinics offer. The fee they charge goes towards research in this area xx

Hi AnnieAnnie thank you. WeeJacs mentioned Warwick too. I know they are NHS but offer private services so I assume the costs are similar to other clinics? Was it Dr Quenby who you saw and who referred you, your GP? Sorry for all the questions, I really appreciate your help.

I paid £540 for the two biopsies, which also includes a brief consultation before the first biopsy and a telephone call for the results and to discuss medication if this is needed. I didn't get to see Dr Quenby but did see Professor Brosens. He was lovely as well as the nurse who assisted. You can just email them, details are on the net, and ask for a quote and details. You have to track your ovulation which then determines when you have your biopsy done and they will provide you with a date for it xx
