Disappointing egg collection today

So after stimulation going great and having 17 follicles. I was disappointed to find out that they were unable to retrieve any eggs from my right ovary, with it still being to high up and apparently behind my uterus. I know I should be happy with six but with a 30-50 % fertilisation rate and then there is the battle to get to blastocyst 😫 it has just been abit deflating after responding so we’ll be stims 😥 fingers crossed we have something to transfer and hopefully freeze 🙏

So sorry that you're feeling this way. I've been there and it's really frustrating. I think everyone should have some time to feel their disappointment and when you're ready, try reframing it - you got 6 eggs! And ultimately, it's a quality over quantity game (although both would be great) .In my first round, I also got 6 eggs after expecting more. 4 fertilised but only 1 made it to day 5. That 1 embryo is now a 2 year old whirlwind of a kid who I really didn't ever expect to be here after only having one embryo!

In my second round, I only had 4 eggs retrieved! We have male and female factor but 3 eggs still fertilised. One became a failed round but the second one was a successful FET and I'm lucky enough to be pregnant again. I went with that particular clinic because their focus was so strongly on quality over quantity.

Hi i have a pelvic kidney and it hides my right ovary so have never got anything from that side. On my second cycle we got 5 eggs from my left and 2 made it to day 5, I’ll have everything crossed for you best of luck xxxx

I had 22 follicles but only 6 eggs retrieved so I totally understand how you’re feeling. Luckily all 6 fertilised and we got 4 day 5 blastocysts so please don’t lose hope!! Sadly fresh transfer not meant to be and have had a frozen transfer today. Wishing you all the luck with your ongoing treatment xxx
