This is a really random post so I apologise in advance, but I’m looking for some reassurance and advice on what you can and can’t do during the TWW following an FET. My FET is scheduled for Tuesday!
I usually walk about 15,000 steps a day, moderate pace. Can I still do that after the first few days (say from the Thursday) or is it best to slow it down and walk for like 20 mins (vs 1.5hrs)?
I’ve booked four days out of work, so Tuesday-Friday and had planned to do mainly bed/sofa rest with a good book and Netflix. If I don’t do the walk, it means I’m basically couch potato - is that advisable? I’ve read mixed reviews about bed rest after FET (pro: allowing plenty of rest and relaxation and con: not allowing blood flow to uterus).
I also practice high intensity Pilates as well as yoga. The Pilates I’m assuming will be too much on the abdomen but will yoga still be okay? Just a lot of downward dog and all those poses!
I drink red raspberry leaf tea. Should I stop that today? And is it safe to continue drinking pomegranate juice and eating Brazil nuts daily through the TWW?
I know some of these may seem like common sense - I just don’t want to do anything wrong.
Any tips or advice would be gratefully received!
✨🤞🏻

Hi congrats on your upcoming FET. Definitely stop drinking raspberry leaf tea it makes your uterus contract. In fact a lot of herbals are unsafe at the start I started drinking rooibos apparently it’s the safest for pregnancy. Also the walks should be fine just less intense like you suggest. Maybe half what you usually do. Also meditation is great. And acupuncture if possible during this time before the transfer or as near to as poss. Brazil nuts yes and I was drinking smoothies with pineapple core blended in. Also try and keep your feet warm as it sends the blood to your uterus. Hope these things help. I’m 10+6 with twins on my final shot at this. And think each time I learn something different x Good luck to you x
Thank you for your reply! I’ve stopped the red raspberry leaf tea, like you said. I usually don’t have any other teas - maybe a normal decaf once a day. I mainly just drink water which is good!
I’ve got acupuncture booked for the Thursday after transfer - looking forward to that. I’ve been having that since December too 🤞🏻
Huge congratulations on your pregnancy as well! That’s wonderful news and brings me hope ✨✨ xxx
Hey lovely, I would say 30-60 mins moderate, relaxed walking a day is fine and good for blood flow / mental health. Eat well, take it easy - Netflix’s sounds good. Stop raspberry leaf tea immediately (as Savs said) Eat some pineapple core (don’t know whether this actually works but I always did it) I also eat a few Brazil nuts each day, plus Pom juice. Also second keeping feet warm, something my Accupunturist told me. Everything crossed for you! Xxx
Thank you so much! It’s good to know I can keep walking - it’s such a stress reliever for me but I was worried I’d be doing too much every day. This may sound silly, but how do you eat your pineapple core? It’s my worst fave fruit but I’ll eat it (literally would do anything I’m told if it helps!) - do you just eat it raw?
Sounds like I’ll stick with the Pom juice and Brazil nuts too then!!
I know what you mean, I had to have a walk everyday to keep sane. Also the vit d (if we ever get any) is good! I would get a whole pineapple and cut in into five chunks (like a loaf of bread?) and then each day have one chunk, cut into smaller pieces. I remember missing a day this time but it didn’t matter as this cycle worked. You could mix it in a smoothie with other things you like? Xxx
Ah yes, I’m on Vit D 4000iu a day along with thyroxine (50mg currently) too.
That’s so helpful about how to consume the pineapple! I’ll be sure to eat that daily during my TWW!
So pleased to hear your cycle worked. Such wonderful news.
My transfer is a year to the day I found out I was last pregnant - ironic! But I’m hoping that’s a sign ✨ (I sadly lost that baby but the day still remains special to me).
🤞🏻 Xxx
I’ve just seen your other post - twins! Such wonderful news 💫 xx
This is a fab question!! Although I have to admit I do not do all what you do exercise wise haha. But I do the raspberry tea, Brazil nuts and walking and was wondering about bed/sofa rest myself. Good luck!! Xx
I think i will stick to the bed rest for the same day of transfer, and then do a light walk from the Wednesday and the rest of the day from the sofa with meditation. Then I may introduce yoga from the Thursday!
There’s so much conflicting information online that’s I thought I’d ask on here! When is your FET? Xx
I’ve got some books to read so I can relax with them. I’ve got two weeks off work so I’ll have to do some things or I’ll be going mad. My transfer is on Thursday morning. I can’t wait, I started the progesterone today xx
Good luck with your 2ww! I’m almost finished mine which obviously fills me with dread, I’m afraid to test 🙈
I had the Brazil nuts and the Pom juice, I think it’s hard to try and do everything you hear about. I took it easy the day of transfer and then carried on mostly as normal, but resting when I could. I have a 3 year old from ICSI so I would say it’s been minimal resting lol.
Good luck and hope the time goes quickly for you xx
Ah I’m so sorry for your loss. I had a miscarriage in March, and my positive test was a year ago on Tuesday which is the same day as my transfer - ironic. I’m so praying this works out so that in some way, I can rewrite an awful year with a positive story.
I hope you get your positive. Will be thinking of you xx
All the best for your transfer! 💫 🤞 🙏 I eat Brazil nuts, try and chill (ha!) and definitely be a bit lazy and do less exercise for the first few days. (15.000 steps for me is a v good day haha) the only transfer I didn’t eat pineapple was the one I got pregnant on 🤷♀️ stay distracted! 💪 🤗 Xx
Ah thank you but that bfp didn’t work out sadly. But I’m still in it to win it 💫 😬 it’s the core apparently of the pineapple that you have to chomp up! 🍍 good luck!! 🍀 Xx
Everything you’re doing is great!👌 I think distraction is the hardest but probably most important job in the tww! 🤞 I’ve got my fingers crossed for you. Thank you 💓 I’m a little behind you, baseline scan today and fet transfer 1st week of Feb hopefully! xx
