DHEA and Endometriosis

Hi ladies, did anyone with Endometriosis history use DHEA supplement to help IVF treatment? Was it helpful or had a negative effect?

Hi Mta209,

I was recommended by my IVF clinic to take DHEA, but then by my gynecologist not to... as the IVF meds/hormones are already stimulating so much activity anyway. So, for now (this happened about 2 weeks ago), I’ve put the pack of DHEA back in the cabinet..

But curious to read other responses to your question too! I hope this helps in some way...

Hi Gabriel, thanks for your reply. I took DHEA for maybe 3 weeks and then l started to feel sort of dull pain in my abdomin like my endo pain and got a severe sore boob. I stopped taking them and l had a strange period with spotting for 13 days. I don't really like to take them anymore but curious to know how others with endo history experience it, to decide whether take it again or not.

Hum.. yes it sounds like it could be having an effect and with endo we never know if that’s a positive or negative one. I would check with all your ‘fertility advisers’ possible!

My doctor is on holiday and the nurse told me "up to you whether take it or not"!!! They are not helpful at all
