Hard to know what to do when the consultant is against you taking it! Does he just not believe in it and thinks it's a waste of time or was there another reason medically that you shouldn't take it? I took it in my last cycle, I had decided that I wanted to try even before I saw my consultant. I did speak with her and the embryologist and they both said no harm in trying and even said they had seen some small studies of good results but hard to get good evidence when no large studies have been carried out. Anyway, I did much better last cycle than my first, same number of eggs but they did better...sadly no bfp. I did have other tweaks to my cycle so I honestly couldn't say if this was the factor but I will be taking it again! I took 3x75mg. Good luck with what you decide!!xx
Thank you that's good to know I've only heard good things about it. To be honest he just thinks it's a waste of time for me but I want to cover all options before giving up.
Personally I can't see the harm in trying it really wished I had taken it before but then wonder what I'm doing paying for private consultation if I go against him
It is confusing when you're getting conflicting information. I guess I was just lucky my consultant agreed it wouldn't do any harm (tbh I had made my mind up already). I also know of a girl that I cycled with that has had it suggested for her next cycle by my clinic. We're both NHS run clinics and I know one of the private run clinics in Scotland recommends it too. I just though why the heck not, wanted to feel like I had done as much as I could! Hopefully a few more ladies on here can help you come to a decision!xx
I'm with cinderella5 and would go for it. Also get the book "it's starts with a egg" it's honestly full of information about egg quality etc. If you have google play etc just down load it I can honestly say it's the best book I've bought in this journey.
