What to expect after two failed IVF cycles

Hello all and happy new year I hope 2021 brings everyone lots of great news

I had a fresh 3 day embroyo transfer back in July 2020 which resulted in BFN. From that cycle only had one more embroyo which we froze (5 day blastocyst was graded 5AA ) I had a medicated FET in Nov 2020 which resulted in BFP however I miscarried at 5.5 weeks.

I have no more embroyos left from the first cycle so I will need to do a fresh cycle all over again to produce eggs. They only got 5 eggs in my first cycle so I am a bit worried. I’m 35 and AMH is 8.9.

I am going to have a follow up next week to discuss what went wrong and what can be done to improve chances.

I am not sure what to expect now as I have no hope left after two failures back to back.

I do have some questions around progesterone. So I was put on one lubion injection once a day and I had asked several times if my progesterone levels are ok and the clinic would just say I’m on the highest dose of lubion and it’s enough they never did any tests to check my progesterone level for my FET. So I am questioning if something is wrong here. As I want to question them on this when I have my follow up.

Should they have checked my progesterone level on the day I did my transfer and after doing my beta hcg at clinic too ,?

Any advise would be very helpful

Thanks

Every clinic seems to do things differently. I changed clinic in 2020 , I think blood test are important they give so much information and drugs can be changed and adapted but there’s so much to it, ask your clinic what will they do differently moving forward.

So sorry both your cycles failed.. 💔

I agree with Marie - I would ask for your progesterone levels to be checked just for your own peace of mind. My first cycle failed, and my progesterone levels weren’t checked. I asked my consultant if they could be next time and she said there isn’t a need because the pessaries give me more than I need (800mg) and because it’s a pessary, it won’t be picked up in my blood anyway. But I’ve read not all women absorb these too well, and if my natural progesterone levels are low then they may need a boost - it’s my theory anyway! So I’m pushing for a blood test - it’s quick and easy to do and would give me my own peace of mind.

Wishing you lots of luck for your next cycle xx

I had a failed Day 3 fresh transfer and my medicated FET from the 1st ICSI cycle ended up in a blighted ovum at 8wks. I was 41 and my AMH was 7 point something. I then got recommend a clinic in Greece and did an ICSI cycle froze and transferred the next mth 3 embryos. I now have a 2yr old son. You don't have to go abroad. They say on average it takes cycles for success so don't give up hope.

I am now 31 wks pregnant at 45 after 3 ICSI cycles. This time from a different clinic in London. I asked them to a blood test the day of my transfer to check y progesterone levels. I didn't do this for the attempts to get my son as I didn't realize you could do this. The new London clinic don't do this as standard practice you have to request this specifically.

Good luck, be positive. Fertility coach has a couple of visualizations I used for my 2nd pregnancy. Also Julie Chang on facebook has lots of tips which make sense and make you feel positive . All free.
