So I got the confirmation today after a HCG blood test that my first IVF try was a BFN. Devastated. I have a consultant appt on 6th January to discuss next treatment options as I have 5 eggs frozen.
I have ulcerative colitis and had my colon removed last year and now live with an ileostomy (stoma bag) has anyone else got this or suffered with UC or similar?
I have been chatting to a friend going through similar and she has said that she has been told she needs blood thinners, anti inflammatories and further hormone support
Thank you

Hi, I had 2 rounds of IVF after my ileostomy for UC. After the first cycle I looked into some research about autoimmune antibodies and asked to be tested for these. I was borderline positive (probably because of the UC) and so I had low dose steroids before and during treatment. I don't know if this is what gave us the BFP. I continued with the steroids during the first trimester. My son is now 4 years old.
Hi Cheer, sorry to read your first attempt has been unsuccessful. Ive got UC which is currently in remission. My second cycle was the best following a flare up and steroid treatment from a response perspective however had a bfn post transfer. I didn’t think UC would impact hugely but after reading your post I’m going to email my IBD team to ask for advice . Take care x
Hi Cheer2020. I managed to dig out the piece of research I took to my consultant. They agreed to put me on this drug protocol after I tested positive for these antinuclear antibodies
