So my official test day is tomorrow but I was impatient and tested early and it was a BFP. For the last week I’ve been experiencing pretty extreme bloating. It’s keeping me up and night and when I stand up it feels like I’ve done a serious core workout in the gym and is very sore/uncomfortable. Almost like pulled muscles with occasional spasms. I can still stand up but it’s just not very nice and it’s making me feel quite poorly.
I’ve rang the clinic a few times because I initially had some mild breathlessness too, and recently I’ve had some nausea (may be the BFP).
The clinic seem to be dismissing that I have OHSS based on me not having a lot of other consistent symptoms but I’m a bit worried. It seems extreme for an early pregnancy symptom, I look easily 3 months pregnant and I’ve already had to abandon all jeans I own because I can’t fasten them without them causing me more pain.
Has anyone else experienced bloating to this level and it not being OHSS? Could it be the progesterone?

Hello I had this and my stomach was so sore to touch it went away within a week or so constipation and trapped wind doesn’t help I think it’s very very mild ohss congrats on your bfp 💕
One of my friends had really bad bloating due to the progesterone and looks much further on after her BFP than she was. Hopefully the discomfort will settle down even if the belly doesn't.xx
I had mild OHSS and my stomach looked exactly the same. It was sore and heavy to walk around with. They made me do a freeze all that cycle as my oestrogen was around 40000! I was allowed to do a FET straight after tho and my stomach went down. I am now pregnant (thank god) but even now on scans the midwives say my ovaries are only just going back to normal and I’m 16 weeks.
Probs will just take ages then. When I had my last scan before egg collection my ovaries were touching each other, and they got 22 eggs so i wouldn’t be surprised if it was a mild OHSS
Yeah. I would keep an eye on it though as your oestrogen levels will continue to rise now your pregnant and your ovaries might not get the relief you need. I had 20 eggs taken but because they made me do a freeze all they also gave me medication to reduce the OHSS and gave me time for my ovaries to rest. I would let your midwife know at your first appt so she can keep an eye on your levels and scan you again if necessary xx
I’m sorry to hear that it didn’t work for you this time. Lots of good Frosties in the freezer for you, sending you lots of positive vibes for if you’d decide to try again!
It’s a pretty gruelling process, both mentally and physically so well done for getting through it 💓💓💓 sending you lots of love.
My bloating was horrendous each and every time I did ivf, stomach was huge and like you I looked 3 months pregnant. The last cycle I had I was constipated for 2 weeks too. It does go down but takes ages.
I will just have to hang on in there and hope I fit into some clothes again soon. I’ve had to buy bigger jeans as even my bigger pair are cutting off my bloody supply 😂
congratulations Swampy_time . I had mild OHSS and was pretty similar…I was showing at 5 weeks. It’ll be a mixture of everything. Good diet, stay hydrated and low impact exercise was the guidance given to me.
