Hi need some advice........

I had my embryo transfer on Monday at 12pm I’ve had loads of cramping on and off, sore nipples/breasts and some bloating. I’ve woke up this morning with a blocked nose and feeling like I’ve got a bit of a cold, I know it’s only 3dpt5dt and I did a pregnancy test this morning which came back negative I know I’m not meant to do one till next Wednesday but can’t seem to help my self! I’m now doubting if this has worked, has anyone had similar symptoms? I also take progesterone pessaries morning and night x x x

It’s waaaaayy too early for positive pregnancy tests. The earliest most ladies seem to get a positive is around 6 days post transfer and even then they can be very faint. Having said that, there’s a reason why your given an otd and that’s because that day will give you the most reliable result as opposed to testing early. Hang in there. You’re not out yet! xx

Hey thanks for replying I’m so scared it’s not going to work as we’ve been trying for soo long. I couldn’t help but check early the date I got from clinic was 21/10/2020. I sometimes look at how bloated I am and my boobs are sore and think I’m pregnant but then read loads of things and it could be pessaries instead I’ve woke up this morning with a blocked nose and feel like I have a little cold x x x

Agree with Tugsirl! At this point it’s possible your body itself does not even know it’s pregnant. After successful implantation (which could easily take a couple of days and doesn’t necessarily happen on the day the embryo is transferred) hcg begins to produce. That can take another 24 hours to get into your blood stream and then another 24 hours after that to possibly show on a pregnancy test in your wee, which would need to be super strong wee. That’s why your otd gives you the most certainty. Also try not to worry too much about symptoms. After spending years looking for even a slightest symptom, I have realised that it’s literally not until I actually got 6 weeks preg that I had any pregnancy symptoms. Symptoms will come and go in the 2ww and that’s totally normal. I think that’s just progesterone from the ivf meds. So you could well be pregnant but 3dpt5dt is asking your body to confirm something it probably doesn’t even know yet.

Absolute best of luck to you! I know the 2ww is horrible and I hated it but I really forced myself to hold out for otd, because you suffer twice otherwise whatever the outcome xxx
