Treatment delayed because of smear test result?

Morning all,

I'm patiently waiting on a call back from the nurses at my fertility clinic to let me know whether our treatment will be delayed further because of my smear test result. My result has shown minor changes in the cells in my cervix, and I have to have a other test in 6 months time. Being already delayed by 10 months (6 months normal waiting time plus 4 due to CV19), the thought of addiding another 6 months is heartbreaking. We had an initial appointment with our Consultant a mere month ago but it had taken 6 months to get to that point. Had any one else had the same experience? I'm 26 with low AMH of 6.03 and I'm so concerned that the longer the wait, the lower my AMH will be.

*NB we are going through ICSI for genetic reasons*

Have you had a colposcopy? When I had had a colposcopy they let me proceed on the understanding if it worked I was putting my own life at risk but if I accepted that risk it was ok. However my colposcopy showed no real changes to speak of. I know its frustrating but better that you are here and healthy and able to have a baby than not..x

Thanks Daisy, I totally understand the reasoning behind it but it's been set back after set break and it's truly heartbreaking. I had colposcopy treatment back in 2015 and my yearly smears have been clear until my most recent one. I suppose I just have to sit tight and wait to hear what they say...

Hi KSPGD. So sorry to hear this, but you must be clear of anything before proceeding. If there are any suspicious cells they will need to be removed , probably with a colposcopy. Hope it doesn't delay things too much. Diane
