Hi everyone! I took a bit of time out from this forum after my ectopic in July, and now I’m back about to start IVF. I’m so excited to be able to have a glimmer of hope again although mostly down right scared of disappointment. I had my baseline scan yesterday (day 2 of my cycle) and got the go ahead to start Gonal F tomorrow (day 4 of my cycle). Everything I read says stims start day 1 to 3 and when I asked the nurse she said I’m starting on day 4 because they already have too many people starting at the same time as me so the only option is for me to start on day 4. Does that sound right? I’m obvs worrying about everything now 🙈
Sending lots of love and strength to you all while we all march through our journeys together! X

Hi Patches. Glad your back on your feet after such a loss. Im always confused abt the start of my cycle anyway as the first day that i count is perhaps not what my clinic does. They say need to be a flow not just some blood if you get what i mean. Therefor i asked what if it was day one and they didnt count it as day one. The nurse then said dont worry if the follicles arent growing we can stim you longer.
Hope your base showed a good number of follicles, the rest i think they can manage with stims xxx goodluck
I started on day 4 last time, I did have an issue with one follicle growing a lot faster than all the rest, but apart from that it was ok. I ended up needing to do stims for 13 days in total but then we got 12 eggs so overall I don't think starting on day 4 was a problem. This time I've started on day 2 though and they are growing a bit more evenly so far although one is a little ahead x
It wasn't ideal because it held the others back a little, but eventually with an increased dose of meds they caught up. The huge one was something like 36mm when we finally triggered! Wishing you lots of luck xx
A bit annoying the clinic are doing it for their own benefit isn't it! Should still be totally fine though - I've had a cycle where it was a bit of a gray area whether it was day 3 or 4 and no one seemed too concerned either way. I've also just started another fresh IVF cycle a couple of days ago too, nice to have some cycle buddies around!! Best of luck to you lovely xx
