IVF stims cycle - do I have to wait for Stork?

Hi everyone, I appreciate this is a pretty niche question, but I'm throwing it out there on the off-chance someone here has been through similar.

As a bit of backstory, I had a failed stims cycle in Feb and the plan with my clinic has always been to do my next cycle in June. I've had various delays including donor sperm and genetic test results taking ages, so I've been making peace with the possibility of starting in late July instead.

However, things then started to speed up. My test results came back, my donor sperm has arrived, and I've been booked in for a baseline scan this afternoon. Today I've also started spotting, which means I'll get my day 1 either tomorrow or Friday.

Now I know my clinic keeps a stock of all the meds in case people need more. So my question is, do you think the clinic would dispense some of the medication so I can start stims this week, or will I have to wait a full month so I can get the full delivery from Stork? I know every clinic has different protocols, but if you've ever been in a similar situation and been allowed to start immediately I'd love to hear from you!

EDIT: Clinic has said I can start on Day 2 of this cycle! Unfortunately baseline scan only showed four follicles per ovary which is way lower than it was 6 months ago. They've taken an AMH test and I'm keeping everything crossed my ovarian reserve hasn't taken a nosedive!

hi, I thought Stork could do a pretty fast delivery? My clinic messed up an order and left me short and Stork delivered in 36 hours. Not sure if they charged for that though. Worth asking what they might be able to offer. Or as you say, even if the clinic could dispense a couple of days, then it might be in time? X

Thank you, I've gone ahead and fired off an email (mine is a satellite clinic so no direct line). Stork can be pretty fast so hopefully if the clinic can dispense a couple of days of bemfola that will tide me over

I would give your clinic a call and ask if poss to get your meds direct from them today so you can start this cycle. See what they say! I had a similar situation last round and they asked if I could pop in that day to pick them up, which I did! If you say there are reasons why doing it this cycle instead of next is better for you (ie I told clinic work commitments meant that the next cycle would make things trickier for me) then they are usually pretty accommodating I find!

Hey thanks, that's a great tip. In my case end of July is definitely less desirable as I'll be doing appraisals for my team, so I'll ask nicely and see what they say!

My stork delivery arrived within 24 hours. My clinic had spare incase I needed them earlier as I started my day one on Saturday. Good luck x

Thank you, hopefully they can place my stork order today if all is well with the baseline scan

The clinic will be used to this and I would call them to discuss. They normally have some stock that they can give you before the large order arrives from stork. The clinics also normally deal with stork direct but again just check and see if you need to call them too.

Thank you so much, I wondered if this might be feasible and your response (along with everyone else's) has given me some hope they'll be able to accommodate me. No harm in asking! They don't have a direct line but I've emailed reception ahead of the appt so fingers crossed
