I have IBS and for me loose stools or not can happen at any time- including when I'm on progesterone injections/pessaries. When I had a successful transfer (but early miscarriage) I also had both and when I had BFNs I have been constipated but I also have had problems with loose stools. So for me it is absolutely not correlated to success. For me anxiety is a real problem though as it really aggravates my IBS (and restricting my diet doesn't make a difference). It is so hard to try to stay calm when going through fertility treatment- I really can't manage it- but I don't think you should focus on this as with IBS it is so random. When I asked my clinic about IBS they didn't think it was relevant at all. Good luck x
My clinic says that after transplant you shouldn't use hot water bottles or hot baths as you want to keep your body temperature as stable as possible (although others say this is nonsense). So I don't keep my stomach warm but I do wear warm socks to keep my feet warm even though that's probably an old wife's tale. I don't know about cold food- I think that's connected to acupuncture but I have never done this so I don't know the specific advice. To be honest I don't think there is anything you can do to ensure success- if you look at who falls pregnant without fertility treatment there's no connection with healthy eating, stress or weight. In my opinion the only thing you may be able to do is check your progesterone levels the day before transfer to see if these are ok. But many clinics do not support this so this may be difficult to arrange (my clinic refuses). The other thing is trying to stay as calm as possible but mainly because this is good for your mental health rather than pregnancy success. Good luck x
Just to add that if you are worried about gut health after loose stools- you can always add some foods to help the healthy bacteria such as live yogurt and flaxseeds. Also drinking lots of water is something they always recommend. You've got this! Take care x
I'm waiting to start my first medicated FET and have a week before I start down regulating. I have done one natural FET before and two fresh transfers. I never get told how thick my lining is- they just say excellent. My problem is that I always start bleeding/spotting before OTD even when I had a short lived BFP. I'm really dreading it to be honest- it all makes me so anxious. It sounds like you're on the right track! Hang in there! All my best wishes for transfer day! X
