When to stop DHEA

Hi all, I am just about to start my second cycle and after a poor response to my first cycle (1 egg that didn’t fertilise) I have been taking dhea in the hope it helps to improve egg quality and numbers. I am just wondering if anyone can advise when they stoped taking dhea eg 1st day of stims, day before egg collection ect and what the outcome was for you in respect of numbers of eggs retrieved. I have low amh and follicle count but hoping for a better response this time.

I stopped on egg collection. I researched online and there was no consensus. Some say till pregnancy is confirmed and others say stop from stimulation. Just for the peace of mind, I stopped from egg retrieval.

I did the same before moving to DE. Hopefully you see a difference this time around.xx

Thanks, I am hoping so but also realistic after the last cycles results. Did you try mild ivf at all before moving to DE?

No, we decided to take the plunge straight to DE. If money wasnt an object I may have considered mild IVF but for us I wanted to maximise our chances as we wouldnt be able to do heaps more treatment.xx

Hi, I did reading about it and read it starts with an egg. I asked my clinic about it for my first cycle and never really got a response. I asked more about it this cycle and they didn’t encourage me to take it, but said it was up too me. I was quite apprehensive about taking it but knew I needed to try something else as the clinic advised the same protocol as last time. My clinic said if I did wish to take it they recommended fertinatal so I ordered this. I also ordered some from another company but it never arrived.
