Recommended brands for CoQ10 and DHEA

Hi everyone, so after the egg collection on Sunday, I will have a resting month before I start with another cycle of stimulations. I am planning to take some CoQ10 and DHEA supplements but I would appreciate if you can recommend a good brand for both? I understand that DHEA should be prescribed but any info would help the decision.

Thank you very much for your time and info sharing. :* :*

Best,

Val

So this is a bit random but I purchased ubiquinol (the more bio-available form of CoQ10) a few months ago but ended up not taking it. It’s by Jarrow and is new and unopened. See pic.

If you’re interested, pm me and I’ll be happy to send it to you xx

Hi cas4cat2020

I know it's illegal to give away prescription medication, but ubiquinol doesn't require a prescription and it was purchased online. Is it still illegal to give it away? Thanks so much

I tried the Holland and Barrett CoQ10 at first but it was way too expensive.

I currently use the CoQ10 from Nature’s Best

My research into DHEA makes me too nervous to take it.

HI JoyfulStar seems like H&B is very often mentioned as a brand. If I may ask why you say 'My research into DHEA makes me too nervous to take it.'? Is there any side effects in taking it? Or anything to be worried about? 🥴😟

Hi Valal,

My research revealed that DHEA is only recommended for some women even if it is known to improve quality and quantity. This is women with low ovarian reserve. It may help or not in my case as I am older but would rather do it if a doctor recommended it. My AMH and AFC is good for my age.

Most women on this forum read it starts with the egg. Please see the attached link which better explains what I mean.

I used COQ10 by Pharma Nord - a pack of 150 is between £65 and £75 - that’s a months supply and I took 4 a day

Hi Running79 if I may ask has it been long you are taking them and is there any improvement yet? Thank you for your reply xx

Hi Valal

I was taking them, along with a whole host of other vitamins for at least 3 months prior to starting my cycle.

There was a slight improvement in the fertilisation rate, along with the fact that we had 3 make it to blast stage instead of 2 like the previous round.

Unfortunately the round I’d taken the COQ10 for, the embryo put bag failed to implant and the other two were PGTA tested and found to be chromosomally abnormal

But that is due to age not the vitamins, I’m 41 and my husbands 59

So we have done a donor round with my sister whos 30 - she took all the vitamins I did for at least 3 months and I’m now 8 weeks and 3 days pregnant

So who knows if they work?!

I used Holland and Barrett for my CoQ10 (100mg) as I don’t trust any of the stuff they sell on Amazon. There is an offer at the moment: the second one costs 1p.

Thank you ZessB my fertility clinic doesn't recommended any brands usually for supplements you can get over the counter, but they said the Holland & Barrett brand is ok to use.

Regarding co q 10 it’s important to take the ubiquinol version. I used Solgar

Hi Elle_hope thank you for your reply. Why is important to take ubiquinol? Any particular reason? And if you don't mind me asking is there any good results from Solgar?

Hi after reading It Starts With The Egg I bought the Jarrow QH ubiquinol and take 200mg in the morning and 200mg in the evening, bigvits are good to go through as you get decent rewards points 👍 I did start off on pharmanord but it is quite a bit more expensive.
