So we've finally got our IVF planning consultation booked 🎉 just wondering what to expect from the first consultation? Obviously with covid going on it'll be via Zoom and we've been sent some forms to complete (HFEA etc) but just looking for some idea of what to expect? Will we discuss protocol etc or does that come later? Excited and nervous haha.
Thanks xx

We had our consultation to start IVF/ICSI 3 weeks ago. They went through all of the consent forms and explained the process to us. I was told to ring up on the 1st day of my next period then would start drugs between day 16-23. Good luck! x
I have found myself wondering the exact same thing, we got our first nurse consultation appointment, but have a little wait still. We were told we would be sent forms for consent. But no idea about what else to expect. So I might not be much help, but just wanted to wish you all the best!!
We had ours several years ago, they go through your medical history to date, sort out consent forms. Arrange your husband/partners sperm tests if your going that route, if you’ve had all your bloods done already they will discuss what protocol you’re on being long or short and the drugs you will use. If you haven’t had any bloods or tests done then they won’t discuss any of that as it will confuse you. They will also discuss with you if you‘be had all your testing they will advise you if you need straight forward IVF or you need IVF with ICSI or IMSI - that’s if your clinic offers those options
