Hi got our first consultation on Friday and just wondering what to expect and any questions I should ask?

Hi, at my first apt they went through all mine and my husbands medical history and then sent us both for more tests including my husband having to give a sperm analysis. Every clinic is different though and I suppose it would depend if you already know the cause of your infertility. Wishing you lots of luck x

Thanks yes we know cause and are going for ICSI x

Hi Wedding17. Often a first appointment with the nurse/consultant involves further blood tests being carried out to check for HIV, Hepatitis, and chlamydia. Probably check out your hormones again including AMH. A further semen analysis ordered if any problems with the last one. A chat about giving yourself injections, plus when these will start. Then there will be some legal paperwork to fill in, which you may have to take away for GP to sign. You might be invited to an open evening to learn all about the process from start to finish, although this is not always offered. An internal scan of your ovaries may be done too to check for any cysts on your ovaries. Arrangements may also be made for you to have a laparoscopy or an HSG (hysterosalpingogram) to check your tubes if required. Can’t think of anything else, but wanted to say good luck with it all, and hope all goes OK. Oh, and I do have a list of questions I could send you to look through if you want. Hi

I have my first consultation for ICSI tomorrow and wondered if you could give me any advice. So anxious and can’t sleep thinking about it. Once already had my internal scan and amh bloods done xx
