I had my follow up appointment today. The consultant thinks I’ve still got a good chance with using my own eggs for my next round of IVF as I managed to get two good embryos in my first round one 5ab and one 3ab which both failed to implant. The consultant then said that my embryos may not have implanted due to defects to the embryo and not necessarily my AMH level. My AMH level is 7 and I am 40 tomorrow. Has any older ladies had a successful pregnancy with level 7 or below. Advice and success stories needed please 😊
I'm 33, but my AMH is 2.1. On my cycle of IVF I got 4 eggs. All 4 fertilised. 1 was transferred at 3 days and 2 made it to 5 day blastocysts and they are in the freezer. I'm currently 6 weeks 5 days pregnant.

Natty80 I am 4o on the 8th:). I am also doing my third round. own eggs - I am just interested - why do you think consultants opt to go with ladies in their 40’s with own eggs. Mine said he still thinks I a chromosomal normal egg. My AMH is low. I am going to have it retested next week
Hi.. I’m having my AMH level checked when my AF starts this month..fingers crossed it’s not gone any lower. I’ve just turned 40 the consultant thinks I’ve still got a good chance with my own eggs and I don’t need to think about using donor eggs yet xx
I don’t have any advice on AMH other than mine was ok and my first 2 transfers still failed.
As I was 40 & on to my 3rd transfer I put two back, one has implanted and I’m 9weeks pregnant now.
Would you consider the same? Xx
Hi..thanks for the advice and the birthday wish! I did mention to the consultant about transferring two embryos and he said that would be considered. My only worry with that though is that I’m a single donor mum and could end up with twins 😂xx

I don’t think your AMH is too much to be concerned with, that’s only testing your ovarian reserve. It’s the quality of eggs that counts and sadly there is no test that us ladies can have that checks them.
Our first round we had a 5BB which resulted in a BFP but died before the first scan, and a 3BB which failed to implant.
Second round we had a 5AB and two 3BB’s.
The 5AB was put back and failed to implant the other two we had PGT tested, and they were both chromosomally abnormal.
The consultant said that the chances are they were all chromosomally abnormal from both rounds, so again their grading means nothing it’s only the embryologist opinion - I’ve just turned 41 my AMH is 19.3, the Dr said we could try again and “might get lucky” and find that one egg that’s fine!! Baring in mind the cost of treatment it’s a lot of money to get lucky And your ovarian reserve can be as big as you like but it’s not any good if none of the eggs are viable! We are in the fortunate position I have two sisters who are will to donate eggs, so this for us is the most sensible route and is not necessarily throwing money away on a whim. I hate to say my husband and I are sceptical of private treatment as they are a business at the end of the day.
If you choose to have another round with your own eggs, you may want to consider PGT testing, our clinic charge £400 for each embryo up to the first 6 and then £200 each there after
