Hey lovely, at my first clinic I was told mine was normal (11.4) their range was 7 to 24 as normal. However doing my own research I knew it was on the lower side. At our new private clinic, he confirmed I do have low ovarian reserve for my age (32)😔 and I was gutted. So I think it depends where you go! It's so confusing! But they will tailor the protocol to suit though, so dont worry yourself 😘 xx
They haven't said! However, it's dropped from 22.7 just one year ago, and they said the drop was quite massive (not reassuring!). Plus, they haven't changed my protocol at all from a year ago, so not sure what the point of testing it is! Lol.
It all depends on age - I'm 40 and mine is 13.7, which is pretty good and means my chances of IVF succeeding are better than average for my age, but if I had that level at 30, it would be considered on the low side and my chances of success would probably be lower than average for my age. But whatever your AMH level is, you're more likely to be successful at 30 than 40. Hope that kind of makes sense! Basically, with AMH nearly 15 you're likely to get a decent number of eggs on an IVF cycle xx
It all hinges on what your amh is against your age. Just to gauge how likely you are to respond to meds. My amh 11 months ago was 45.2 aged 38. It's now 24.3 aged 39. Massive drop but still high for my age.
They say the higher the amh the more likely pregnancy is (purely because you usually get more eggs to play with) however I've seen some ladies actually get fewer eggs than me and more to freeze.
E. G I had 18 eggs first cycle. Only 3 survived. Second cycle 13 eggs only one made it. Yet I've seen ladies get just 5 eggs and end up with 4 to freeze. All it means is that I needed milder stims compared to someone with lower amh. Higher amh is not a guarantee of more embryos. There's so much at play including afc and sperm quality.
I'm 34 and mine is only 8.5 which my consultant said is low for my age. The numbers just help them understand what dosage of stimulation drugs you will need (I was on double the standard dose). I'm currently in the two week wait from my first cycle. So good news is that despite my low amh I got some eggs and one fertilised and is hopefully doing its thing and getting comfy right now.
14.6 is not low is average for your age 35 years old. The chart that Mycatsaremykids provided is what I also received and the clinic told me that middle column is the average. You are not on the lower side. “Satisfactorily” was the right answer.
All the best ❤️
I’m turning 40 next mth I had my Amh done in Nov it was 3.4pmol so low in the last 2 & 1/2 years I’ve had 4 natural conception and mc. I think it’s egg quality for us naturally but for ivf clinic said donor as I would respond well to the treatment.
I'm 32 and mine has dropped from 22.7 to 11.4 in just one year! I don't know what to think about the AMH thing as it's not the only test that determines the quantity and quality of your eggs, plus it seems to varies if you get it tested by different clinics/at different times etc. It feels like it's just another thing to stress us out and make us upset! xxx
Same happened to me. 45.2 to 24.3 in just 11 months. Still high but having had one bfn and one mmc, high amh hasn't got me very far. Definitely quality over quantity x
