AMH level

Hi ladies my AMH is 4.2, I knew it was a bit low, according to some clinics it's too low for treatment.

Has anyone had treatment on a level this low?

Thanks for listening

Best wishes xx

My amh is 5.1. I got refused nhs treatment because of this but had 2 cycles privately. The drs are still optimistic at that level and although I need high drug dosages, I've produced 5 or 6 eggs per cycle. Even got 2 in the freezer from last cycle. My understanding is it's if it drops below 2 the odds of success get really low. Saying that, I have seen success with people of amh below 2. X

Hi Anna, thanks for your reply- it's a shame that different NHS trusts have different cut offs! I suppose we will have to wait and see and start saving the house fund for private. Good luck to you x

Hi GreenApples,

My AMH is 1.4 I've had one ivf on NHS offered 3 attempts and 1 ICSI cycle privately as now out of the U.K.

No success as of yet but managed to collect 4 eggs each time.

Hope that helps

Good luck xx

Hi dreamer

Thank you. It really helps. I came on here as I felt so alone with all this IVF stuff. It's sad to see that so many people have to go through it all, but reassuring that your not the only one and others are in the same boat.

Good luck for future cycles xx

Hi, My AMH is 2.8 and I am currently on my first cycle. My consultant has been very optimistic so I am trying to stay hopeful. Hope you get funding and your journey ends well xxx

Have you looked into DHEA? There are some early studies than have shown that it can help with the yield of eggs with low AMH. I can't back this up as I'm taking it on preparation for my next cycle, mine is a little higher at 7.19 and managed 6 eggs. See what your clinic's thoughts are!x

Hi Cinderella, I'll have a little look into that and put it on my list.

Thanks so much xx

Mine was 4.7, there was never a question of me not getting nhs funding because of it. I had one cycle starting in June and am now nearly 11 weeks pregnant.

I also needed high doses of the drugs, but got 6 eggs and all fertilised and we also have 5 frozen now. I read so many papers about low amh when I was told and there's loads of examples of people conceiving with levels less than 1 though I know percentage wise that's a lot less likely.

The low AMH cut off was mentioned in the open evening. But talking to the consultant after she said it on a case by case so we will have to wait and see. Big congratulations to you cyantist very exciting news indeed xx

Hello, my AMH was only 3.8 which was apparently very bad for a 30 year old. We were very worried but I was advised to take DHEA for 3 months prior to ivf. We only ended up with two eggs but they are now 9 month old baby girls. Don't give up, it only takes one little old egg xxx
