Buserelin

Hey ladies,

I just have a quick question, hopefully you’re able to assist! So I start my first ivf cycle on Tuesday 14th. I start on day 21 of my cycle with Buserelin. However, do I have to have ovulated before starting the injection? I only ask as my cycle ranges from 26 to 35 days and I just had some EWCM (sorry if TMI) and I am on CD19. I’ve no idea if I’ve ovulated or I am due to ovulate. I am worried in case I haven’t ovulated yet or will not ovulate before starting the buserelin on Tuesday and therefore will not have a period or a bleed? Or would I still have a bleed regardless?

The ovulation thing doesnt matter. The buserelin is to put you in the fake menopause and this is what creates the bleed. Best of luck.xx

hi sorry to jump onto your post ... hope all went well with your ivf journey ... i just have a question on the period side of this.... i started buserelin on day 21 got my AF (it was 2 days late) and was a normal bleed maybe a little heavier I then finished the bleed had my scan and all seems fine however 2 days later I have began to bleed again not overly heavy but its there have any of you experienced this when taking buserelin ? I began my Gonal F injections yesterday to but had already began the 2nd bleed ? I'm not worried as I feel its my body just completing its clear out from previous but what weird to have a couple of days without bleeding ? Thanks
