To add anymore supplements or not?

Hey everyone. Since it’s going to be a while before my husband and I will our first IVF cycle, in the meantime, we’re doing all we can to get our eggs and sperm in tip top shape to increase our chances of success when the awaited day for retrieval finally comes! We have male factor infertility - low motility and morphology, the count seems to be normal.

We’ve started exercising daily and follow a Mediterranean diet (fish twice a week, whole grain bread only, minimal meat - poultry 1-2x a week and very occasionally pork/beef, lots of antioxidant-high fruits and veggies, beans, nuts, dark chocolate, etc.)

I’d like to ask this community to check/comment on our supplement intake.

Without naming brands, my husband takes:

A men’s multivitamin (see photo for ingredients),

200mg CoQ10,

1000mg L-Carnitine.

I take:

a women’s multivitamin (see photo for ingredients),

400mg methylfolate,

200mg CoQ10.

I’m wondering if we need to add anything? Is my husbands intake of vitamin C, selenium, and zinc too low? Any advice is helpful!

Please DO NOT name brands in your responses as that’s considered advertising. If you want to recommend a specific brand please DM me.

To be honest I think you've covered everything! My hubby is on about 10 tablets a day 🙈

Good luck xxx

More than happy to get affirmation!

Prenatal vitamins and men multivitamins are actually more than enough for the beginning. Do not exaggerate with them as sometimes can make more harm than good. Usually all the supplements are recommended by a specialist so ask their opinion as well.

I wish you a very good luck and all the finger crossed 🤞 ❤️🤗

My husband also has low motility, if you would like to know what supplement our consultant recommended feel free to message me. We were using a well known men’s multivitamin tablet before that and it made zero difference but the one recommended by our clinic did improve things xx

The only extra my hubby took on our consultants advice was zinc, he took a conception multi vit plus a zinc each day. Ours was male factor too and our second cycle was successful, we saw a big improvement in the sperm second time round and he gad been taking both vitamins for around 6 months prior.

The supplements are ok but I will add zinc, vit c and vitamin D for the man and also Vitamin D and C for you.

For me I also added vit E but I took it sparingly. x
