So, myself and my husband went through 2 rounds of ICSI to get our little boy. He has fertility issues and in our 8 years together, has never gotten me pregnant. However, somehow we managed to fall pregnant but I miscarried at the end of February. We were devastated but I kind of felt like I saw it coming given we never thought it would happen. I grieved for a few days and focused back on my little boy. Then, unbelievably we fell pregnant again a month later!! So here’s me thinking this could actually be happening for us, maybe it wasn’t just a fluke.
I am 4+6 today and went to the loo to find a little brown spotting. Barely nothing. But when I went back 15 minutes later it was red blood. I’m going to keep an eye on it over the next couple of days but I feel confident I’m probably miscarrying again.
My question is, do I have to go to the hospital again or can I deal with it at home and notify them for them to record it? I’m too early to do a scan (I assume) and don’t see any reason why I can’t just let the bleeding run it’s course and do a pregnancy test next week to see what it says.
This is earlier than my miscarriage in February and even then it felt like they were just going through the motions which I could have really done myself.
Obviously if I start getting any pain/extensive bleeding etc then I will go.
Thoughts?
UPDATE - had a bleed a couple of days later but only once when I wiped, nothing more. Today a clear blue digital test still dated me at 1-2 weeks when I am 5+4 so it’s not looking good. The EPU/doctors just want me to ‘wait and see’. If it is a miscarriage again, I just want it over quickly 😞

Hi hun I just want to say I had fresh blood with clots like so much blood and I didn’t miscarry. Please wait it out. Either way it either happens or not and it’s early so wait u til your next scan ok? Praying for you xxx
Hi hon. Thanks for replying 😊 I will, I’ve heard stories about people bleeding and not miscarrying but it’s hard to think your the exception rather than the rule. I will hold off and if I feel like it has been a proper period I’ll do another test and call them xxx
No change really hon. So after that one occasion on Friday night of red/pink blood (not much) it’s just been brown discharge since, again not much. However I did have a dull bellyache last night, like period pains but not as bad so I’m still a little worried to be honest 😞 and the brown continues. The EPU are open today so I think I might call them and explain, see what they suggest. Thanks for checking on me 😊 that’s really nice
Thanks hon ☺️ I’m staying positive but preparing for the worst just in case. I had a bright red bleed this morning but it was when I wiped (sorry TMI) only once and nothing since other then dark red/brown. I am feeling a little achy though in the belly. We’ll just have to wait and see xx
Yes try to stay positive! I'm glad to gear that you havent had anymore bleeding since. Take it easy, unfortunately there isnt much you can do at the moment apart from that.xx
They said there’s nothing they can really do and just to monitor it and call back if it gets worse or I get clots so just going to see what happens. I’m trying to be positive but prepare for the worst xx
Thank you 😊 the EPU are open today so I’m going to call them and see what they advise x
Really hope you are not miscarrying and everything is fine and you dont need this advice, but just to answer your question you can just stay at home. One of my MC was at 5 1/2 weeks and it was just like a heavy period really... I didnt tell anyone x
Thank you hon! I just think I would feel better dealing with it at home. I know there’s no way this could be prevented so would rather not have to go in.
Did you just do a pregnancy test yourself to check it had gone? x
Yes I did a couple of weeks later - I am optimistic you will still be pregnant though - seen so many early bleed stories that are good news in the end xx
It’s horrible you went through it, I’m sorry 😢 but reassuring that I can do things my way if needed. The last one was very overwhelming in the hospital.
I hope you are right, I just see so many stories and always seem to be the rule, not the exception. Im just going to take it easy and see what happens xx
