During IVF fluid keeps collecting in the shape of a balloon in my lining, it comes back within days of being drained...
I've had 9 ops (removal of tubes, ovary, fibroids, endometrial scarring) I did and maybe still do have adhesions, but recently a hysteroscope passed through with ease, so my Dr is referring me to expert Dr Lower Harley St for possible Ashermans syndrome only he doesn't think it's Ashermans?
If it isn't Ashermans I've been told only surrogacy is an option which financially we cannot consider.
Any ideas?

Hi Carebear, I dont have much experience with Ashermans however I would have thought they would see this on hysteroscopy?! I had thick scar tissue removed too under GA but this was to assist my poor linking thickening. Ive just read your old posts and you mentioned that you only seem to get this after starting hormones. have they let you do a natural cycle to see if you get fluid without adding in estrogen? The only other thing I can think of is you may want to look at the ERA/EMMA/ALICE which can check for inflammatory issues in your uterus but its not cheap. Maybe a couple of things you can ask your clinic about? Also have they let you continue onto progesterone to see if this makes the fluid disappear?xxx
I can't have a natural cycle due to early menopause 5 years ago, they did try progesterone once, but not convinced that wouldn't help now because it was done during a cycle when I had leaky Fallopian tubes.. these have now been removed - so I would like to try it again to see if progesterone soaks it up?
I've also read that estrogen can cause fluid and maybe try it at a different dose, or patches instead of Orally?
ERA/EMMA/ALICE - no clue 😂 but will look these up! Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart xxxx ❤️
Ahhh ok so natural cycle is out then! Well that's only a couple of my thoughts but like I said, im no expert. You could try patches as opposed to oral tablets or a mix of both.....that's what I have to do. Are you on an extremely high dose? I think it would be worth asking if you could do a cycle allowing you to start progesterone to see if that helps especially as you tubes have been sorted. Must be so frustrating and scary that surrogacy has been suggested. Best of luck, Ive had issues with my lining so I do think its worth trying to tweak your meds protocol before they suggest such extraordinary measures.xxx
Yes I can only imagine how upsetting that was. Maybe even trying patches and even if its still there to let you start progesterone would be worth suggesting to them, even if its just on a trial basis seeing as we cant transfer just now anyway! Some of us just have extremely awkward bodies. If you arent getting anywhere would it be worth gettng a second opinion from another clinic? Sometimes we need another clinic that can think outside the box.xxx
