Hi everyone, I'm a little lost. I've waited nearly two years for another egg collection and something has always stopped us. At the moment it's on hold as I have 'simple' cysts on my ovaries. On both of them although one it's now going - the other was very large nearly 6cm and is now half that. Yesterday however I was told that this could be because menopause is fast approaching and getting so many cysts on your ovaries is usually a sign. They said if they are still there when I start my period we may have to just proceed anyway as they could get worse again and I am running out of time. (Before they have been saying wait until both go completely)
This news has knocked me, as all along they have been saying oh you are getting these cysts because you are fertile and ovulating often. So to suddenly hear this has shocked me. I ovbs know I don't have forever but I'm 34 surely I'm not going to go through menopause in the next few months. Last time I had my amh it was 19 or so (high) so then they tested again straight after and it was around 6 - this was a year ago they haven't tested since
Are cysts on the ovaries a sign? Please help with any info. I'm not sure them telling me was a good idea I'm crazy stressed and upset and this just puts more pressure on me xxx

Hi lovely, so sorry to read this - I've sent you a PM.For what it's worth I'm not sure that you're about to go through the menopause - but even if you are perimenopausal - IVF can still be successful. My sister in law was in the same situation (AMH was 2.1) and she has 2 healthy children from IVF after that.
Hi hun, so sorry to hear that you are dealing with more delays. I know the feeling and it's incredibly frustrating! I don't know why they made such an insensitive and flippant comment, without really explaining or verifying it. That doesn't seem right to me. Sorry you had to deal with that!
I really don't know if it could be a sign or not, but I get simple cysts all the time due to my PCOS. I've had some delays due to this, but I also had one cycle where they considered delaying it due to a large simple cyst that wouldn't go away, but they checked my estrogen levels and were happy the cyst was not producing hormones and we proceeded with the cycle anyway. It all went fine, and I got a normal amount of eggs!
Hopefully they can figure it out and you can get on with your cycle with no more delays. Sending hugs and loads of luck to you xx
Oh no, I think it just means it effects the baseline they like to see. They like things "calm" before they start meds, but I don't think it always makes much of a difference. Also heard of some people having their cysts drained before they start too, but I think it depends on what the doctor prefers to do. Stay positive lovely, you got this! 💕 xx
