Bleeding after a failed fresh IVF transfer.

So I had 2. 3 day fresh embryos transferred but I had BFN, with a beta of 2 so I stopped the progesterone on the Tuesday and on Wednesday I started to bleed, I bleed for 6 days, cramping and clots which I guess that is normal. Because he has had some returning sperm we will try to do it naturally due to the Coronavirus no IVF will be get done for a while and we will probably not be able to afford it now, anyway this is are first cycle trying because his sperm was zero a year ago but as I started the IVF he was tested again and by some miracle it has returned but low... so we felt lucky. Going back to the bleeding I thought that I ovulation may be slightly delayed because of the IVF so we get to doing every other day, I haven't any ovulation test kits because we didn’t know his sperm would come back and I am waiting for them through Amazon and Italy amazon delivery are very long at the moment, so if I go by my normal cycle yesterday would have been O day!! I felt lightheaded extremely tired and a headache all day and put it down to being on lockdown and stress but I went to the loo and had loads of brown blood then I went back an hour later and it was bright red, this is 13days after I started my withdrawal bleed from the progesterone and only 6 days after I finished, I had no bleeding between. Is this normal? Is this just an very early period? I have been reading online that most people have a longer cycle after their first bleed, it seem super weird. This morning I have woke up and I don’t have so much blood, I’m really angry because I every month is important because I am 43 so chances are slim anyway!!! Had anyone had this???

Hi Simnaroma. So sorry to hear all this. However, there is nothing like an IVF cycle to upset your menstruation. I feel it would be good to keep trying naturally, every 3 days, or more often if you want. This way, providing your Fallopian tubes are still OK, there should be sperm waiting in your tubes for when you ovulate. The sperm live for 4 days or more, so do keep trying. I shall be thinking of you. Diane
