Sending love to you all in these unprecedented times as we all learn how to survive in this new fear/anxiety fuelled society. I am grieving not having the option to be a mum this year any more - but grateful I had already moved to the Donor Egg option so time is not as pressing as for any of you lovely ladies using your own eggs.
Anyhow - my question:
Have any of you done FET without the 3.75mg Downreg Lupron shot mid cycle? My clinic says it's their practice but no way it works for me. I took the shot on 1st March. Depressed, emotional mood swings, gained 2kg and I am now on Day 12 of my period Of course no transfer now so not taking the estrogen or progesterone but this can't be right. I can't take the pill either as that makes me bleed non-stop. Anyone experienced this and found a way around it?
I know this won't be for a while but thought I may as well have my facts straight for when we have weathered the storm.
Thanks so much in advance,
Love love
Alison

Hello lovely! I don’t have any advice I’m afraid but just wanted to say hi and hope you’re doing well. Well done for going the donor egg route. Big decision but like you say; takes the pressure off a bit, especially at the moment. Was due to have my 2nd FET in 2 weeks... so cruel.
Ah crap. Sorry to hear it babes. 1 - first transfer didn't work out 2 - second transfer delayed. There'll sure be a lot of babies when this is all over! xoxo
Oh HK is safe as houses - we are on Week 8 of lockdown and Week 7 of distance learning so... new normal. We're lucky in Asia as people wear masks all the time - we only had 100 for the first 6 weeks - it's just ramping up in the second wave as everyone returned in the last few days from overseas! Hope you're all OK. xx
Yeah. England finally taking things seriously. Hopefully with proper management we can flatten that curve! Ending up week eight of distance learning now. I will find classroom teaching so easy when we get back to work! Xx
Haha yes! It was a novelty to begin with! Just want to get on with my treatment though, so frustrating. Every so often I have a massive panic that I’m running out of time and have to talk myself down... 😳
Hey Sparklecock! So in the past Ive used a few different things to down regulate. In my NHS cycles they had me use the nasal spray then daily injections of buserelin. the spray didnt work for me and the injections made me feel crap. I then started my treatment abroad and we used the one off injection prostap which is like lupron I guess....again I felt crap. We then moved to using the pill which I still wasnt convicned worked well for me and Ruth agreed. I have regular periods so Ruth agreed to allow me to prep without down regulating which is so much better. However if you dont have regular periods and need to pin down your dates for you flying from HK that may not work. The other thing that we tried recently and plan to do in the lead up to my FET cycle is to take a maintenance cycle of meds so a low dose of progynova then add in progesterone then stop it to for a bleed (this allows a little more planning of dates for a bleed) then move onto my proper dose of progynova to increase my lining and plan for transfer. This last one may work for you so worth an ask and see how you get on. However I would add that I know they prefer patients to down regulate as it really helps pin down your dates for travelling but if you explain that you've been bleeding for 12 days then they may agree this isnt for you! Good luck & give me a shout if that doesnt make sense.xx
Aw magic. Thanks mate. Only just saw this. Yeah. I can’t handle hormones at all. Which is why IVf is such a lark! Haha. How are you getting on with Iakentro? Will you transfer as soon as flights allow? I’m just waiting for my blasts figure... we got 9 mature eggs and 7 fertilised. We find out blast numbers on Saturday. Eeek! Xx
Oh that's so exciting! Ive got my finger crossed for some lovely blastocysts. Im planning on transferring as soon as the travel ban is over but goodness knows when that will be, doing my head in knowing that Ive got 6 blastocysts and cant do anything with them!! Ha ha ha
Well you never know! I cant wait to get back to Athens, got such a soft spot for the place, people, food and weather!! Good luck again and hugs right back at ya!xx
Yeah ☺️it’s today 🥴Should have gone for a blood test but decided against traveling to London so trying to hold out a couple more days & test at home but I had slight bleeding & brown spotting (TMI) last night so I’m worried but hoping it’s implantation - my embryo was ‘very early’ blastocyst so may well be a late implanter 🤞
How are things with you? Hope you’re keeping well. Xxx
Eeek. Omg. Everything crossed for you. Oh I’m just in week eight of distance learning so become the new normal. HK is pretty tight with its masks and hand sanitizers and social distancing so we’ve still only got 300 cases and we started two months ago so... we’re pretty lucky. We had SARS and 300 deaths in 2003 so we knew what to do. Gutted I’m not transferring but. All things for a reason. I mean, I wouldn’t cope with a Capricorn child! 💕🙏😘🤪 keep me posted please xxx
Wow week 8! So how long are they looking at continuing it for? We are only in week 1 here & people still aren’t taking it seriously. It’s so frustrating 😤
Yes of course, but hopefully not too much longer for you now? Hahaha that’s a good way to look at it!
