Hi Eram12. Welcome back. Can imagine this is an anxious time, but just wanted to step in and reassure you (as I'm sure others have e.g. your clinic) that bleeding is common in early pregnancy and hopefully everything is absolutely fine. Know it's hard not to worry though. Hope your 7 week scan isn't too too far away! Love and hugs.

Thank you.. x everyone has said it’s normal aslong as it’s not heavy but still I can’t help but feel anxious I didn’t have this on my first pregnancy. my scan is on 12th March which is ages away 😣

I'm afraid I haven't had a BFP yet Eram, so no personal stories. But I've heard lots of people on here talk about bleeding in early pregnancy. Some friends who conceived naturally actually bled all thr way through their pregnancies! Keeping everything crossed for you 🤞🤞💜

Thank you 🙏

I beld during first trimester - stopped after 13weeks. If u r taking cyclogest it can affect this too. Do u know ur blood type? I am rhesus negative. I needed an injection to prevent antibodies building up. I would recommend phoning ur clinic and let them know that u are bleeding. They may want to c u if it gets heavy. Otherwise, as others have said, it's not unusual to have spotting esp in 1st trimester.

Good luck 🍀

in reply to

Hey I don’t know my blood type and yes I am using Cyclogest but using it rectally so I don’t think it’s that.

I had quite heavy bleeding at 6 weeks and all was fine x

in reply to

Hi thank you that is reassuring xx

Hi Eram12.

Congratulations on your pregnancy.

I had bleeding in both full term pregnancies- I bled heavily like a period with my son at7weeks & bled between 6-14 weeks with my daughter mostly brown but did lose fresh blood with small clots at10 weeks they couldn’t find a reason for the bleeding..

I know lots of women who’ve bled & gone into to have healthy babies dosent always mean miscarriage tho that is what we fear at any sight of blood in early pregnancy.

Wishing you the best with your pregnancy xxx

Thank you. It’s just so scary because I have never bled with my little girl she was conceived naturally. If I take a clear blue pregnancy test in a few days and it jumps to 2 plus weeks would u say that is a good sign? Xx

in reply to

It’s horrendous.

I had a chemical pregnancy in between my son & daughter which made me really freak out more.. My pregnancies were naturally conceived ( chemical pregnancy & my daughter after my endometriosis was diagnosed & treated) I freaked out at every twinge & thought the worst.

If by testing puts your mind at ease do it.I constantly tested every other day in the early weeks with my daughter!!!

I don’t know how far gone you are but from 6 weeks you can have a scan ( tho it’s not recommended till 7 weeks as you may not see a heartbeat at 6 weeks) or blood tests to see how your levels are progressing.

If you are very early into the pregnancy I would use first urine to test.

It’s very difficult being pregnant after infertility I spent my entire pregnancy worrying thinking oh was too good to be true I couldn’t relax until my daughter arrived safely. I feared every scan & heartbeat check the sense of relief of everything being okay was immense but reassurance never lasted long!!!

Rest as much as you can . I ended up being signed off work by my gp. Do whatever makes this easier xxx

Yes! And it was horrendous. And happened multiple times. And mine was HEAVY.

But.. All scans were fine, as were my twins xxx

Hi Hidden , I’m getting some bleeding/spotting and I’m 16dp5dt (5 weeks pregnant going from my last period) , some days nothing other than some pinky discharge when I wipe (sorry if that’s TMI) & other days nothing. On the days I have nothing I feel great, on the days I have some bleeding I feel rubbish & panicky but try and be reassured by all of the ladies replies that have said they’ve shared the same experiences and gone on to have a healthy pregnancy and baby. Don’t lose hope Xx read some replies on my last couple of posts if that’s a help too xx

Thanks for replying. Have u had your hcg tested? I’m thinking of getting mine done. It is scary though isn’t it.. and thanks for reassuring me. nice to know I’m not alone xxxx

No I haven’t had my hcg tested. My clinic said they’d only do it if the bleeding became heavier (as in covering a full sanitary pad). All clinics are different though so if you’re really concerned I’d request a hcg blood test to put your mind at ease. I just keep doing pregnancy tests every few days, which is keeping my mind at ease for now. Hope that helps a little 😊 Xx

Just realised I wrote above on my previous post that ‘some days I get nothing and some days I get nothing ‘ lol, I meant some days I get light bleeding & some days I get nothing other than a pinky hue when wiping. Xx

Hey I have been to the gp and got told exactly what u got told... so frustrating isn’t it! When is your scan? Xxx

I think we have to look at it like this - if the gp’s/clinics were really concerned, they’d do a blood test. Our bleeding obviously isn’t bad enough for them to worry and hopefully it won’t get worse 🙂🙏🏻🤞.

My scan is Monday, 9th. I think the next fortnight will drag for the both of us hey! Keep yourself as busy as you can (but at the same time make sure to rest when your body needs it). Look after yourself Xx💕

in reply toHopesanddreams1987

that is actually a good way to look at it. Hope we both have good scans 🙏🙏 I’m sure we will considering... take care and u rest up as well xxx

I had a minor bleeding in the beginning and one around 8 weeks, mostly brown and pink. In the beginning they tested my progesterone and it was low, so they increased the dose. It remained unexplained. Baby boy is now 4 months old 😊

Good luck!

Hi what dose was u on? And thanks 😊

I was initially on 300 and they increased it to 600.

Hi! I had bleeding a couple of times (pretty heavy too) between 5-8 weeks and all is good. They told me I had a small hematoma that's common with IVF pregnancies. I'm 17 weeks with twins now. :) Best of luck! Wishing you a healthy pregnancy!

in reply tocab0813

Hi thanks for letting me know. 😊 and congratulations.

Eram12, I am in the same position and it’s scary! I never spotted with my son, but equally didn’t with my 2 MMCs 🤷🏻‍♀️.

I started slightly brown spotting last Wednesday when I was 6.5 weeks. Given my history of miscarriage I went straight to my local EPU. Waited an age but eventually they scanned me and the blimp was measuring perfectly to the day and had a strong heartbeat. I swear I was in total shock! I genuinely thought I was having another miscarriage.

While I still might, I feel slightly calmer given I still feel pregnant and the spotting is very intermittent and only typically when I wipe. I got my progesterone level checked following this and it’s okay.

Perhaps these are options to explore if you continue to be concerned.

Good luck and I hope all goes okay when you do get your scan. This whole episode has left me so so stressed and I now dread going to the loo. What will be will be, but my goodness, the days are dragging as I hang on (if I can) to have a further scan after 8 weeks when hopefully I can take more comfort if the blimp is still developing. A week to go....

X

in reply to

Hey tell me about it! It is so stressful I too get so scared going to the toilet.. I can’t wait for my 7 week scan it’s on the 12th I’m 4 weeks and 4 days today. Can’t wait till I give birth 😣 and I know I should feel fortunate but can’t help but think once my daughter has a sibling I will never get pregnant again! 😣 I have had no bleed since 1am Which I’m thankful for... xx
