Twinges in early pregnancy

Every little twinge is sending me into a panic, how much is normal? What did anybody else experience and go on to have a healthy pregnancy?

I had mild cramps for quite a few weeks, it's just the uterus expanding. It's so hard not to worry but twinges are pretty normal I think, there's a lot going on in there!! xxx

Thank you, finding it a little hard to stay calm! Xx

It's so hard isn't it? I'm 18+4 and still have some cramps now but had loads until about 13 or 14 weeks and it was so hard not to panic every time. Having talked to the midwife it seems that as long as its not crippling pain and there is no significant bleeding there is no need to worry, if anything it's a good sign that baby is growing. Mention it when you have a midwife or scan appointment but I'm sure they will put your mind at ease. X

Thank you, I’m clinging to the nausea and vomiting as a good sign for now but it doesn’t stop me panicking it’s a week until our next scan but the waiting doesn’t get any easier! X

All of that seems normal. Add to that sore boobs and a lot of fatigue! Had all of this during the first few weeks and I am several weeks in now and still panic at every twinge. If you are not bleeding or experiencing severe pain you should be ok.

Thank you, I’ve already had a significant bleed during this pregnancy and I lost my last pregnancy so anxiety levels are high! X

So glad you wrote this post! I found out I’m pregnant this weekend - just shy of 5 weeks currently and it’s a post-miscarriage pregnancy so every twinge makes me scared and I end up going to the loo just in case. I remind myself that they don’t feel like period cramps, and mine seem quite short and sharp then gone - what about yours? X

I’m having twinges on both sides that come and go and mild aches in my back that come and go. I had a big bleed at 5 weeks and I had a mmc last year so I’m constantly second checking everything x

I'm sorry to hear that. I miscarried at just over 5 weeks so if I can get to this weekend it'll feel like progress. Last time I had spotting constantly but this time nothing, just mega painful boobs, a lot of fluid and the old sharp twinge. It's such a scary time, I hope you're OK! Feel free to message anytime :) xx

Hi,

I'm on the same boat! I’m pregnant post-miscarriage and every twinge makes me scare. Besides I been having spotting on and off since week 4 (currently i'm 11w pregnant).

Mine are also quite short and sharp and then gone.

Thank god, I have a scan tomorrow.

Best of luck for both of us! ;)

Thank you..it’s all so terrifying! How did you get on being back at work? I had a scan at 6+4 and I have another next week x

I went back to work 2 weeks ago because I was feeling a little better. Between week 6 and 9 nausea and vomiting were horrible. But now it's getting better! Also I'm having more days without spotting (before it was everyday).

My boss and my colleagues are aware of my situation. They have been very supportive which is very helpful because my work is not easy (ICU nurse).

Being at work is good for my mind, but I will not hesitate to ask my doctor to give me some days of sick leave if I'm not feeling well. This pregnnancy is too precious!
