So we are home from Spain with our little one on board. Day 2! This is our 3rd set of donors and 5th transfer so hoping all goes well this time. I've just turned 46 so hurry up already!! ππ
After 2 early losses last year I feel like getting to a BFP is only the first hurdle. This time we have new donors, have done a fresh transfer with a synched cycle, had antibiotics for my full cycle and have prolutex injections on top of my pessaries. I've all the usual stuff too including steroids, clexane, aspirin...I have ALL if it!!! And have done a long 3 months of acupuncture to prep me. Don't know if it works but I felt great! And I've no belly bruising from the injections which apparently means my spleen is great which means my blood is great. Apparently that's great in acupuncture terms!! ππ
I've always had great support on here so if you have a spare finger then give it a little cross for me.
I hope all of you on this 2ww are doing well. Lots of luck and love to you all. I've fingers crossed for us all xxxxβ€οΈβ€οΈβ€οΈ

Oh i see. Because i had a natural modified cycle so had 2 eggs collected one fertilised normally so best place for it to be is in my uterus. They dont tend to do many 5 day transfers with natural cycles and it felt more natural to put it back asap! How are you feeling?x
Wow that's fantastic. I've always had medicated cycles. It's brilliant that you could do a natural one. I hope they are snuggling in nicely for you. I feel ok...bit twingy tonight so I'm in bed with my kindle...I've read 2 books in the last 3 days ππ
Well thats good going, maybe i need a kindle lol. Yes i wasnt comfortable with doing a medicated one, it didnt feel right for me. The drugs scared the crap out of me and i knew it would flare up my endometriosis which i really didnt want! With that and having 5 follicles, i wanted to go aa natural as possible and concentrate on egg quality. First clinic we went to said they wanted me on all the drugs at the highest doses. I changed to a clinic where our dr actually listened, treated me like a person and not a statistic, and also completely agreed with me and has been fully supportive. Ive only had lowest dose menopur to gently stimulate for a week, 4 shots of cetrotide and my trigger. And they went by each blood test before they gave me anything at all. So minimal drugs and i didnt get side effects, and ive had the best result possible so im very thankful. Dr even supported me and advised on suppliments which im big on, other clinic said to stop everything! I feel ok, pretty good. Just really tired its been a long day and looking forward to my bed.
Wow it sounds like you found an amazing clinic and have had a great experience...that's the best you can ask for. We are using donors so it's full on meds for me to do lining prep for embryo and it's a lot of meds! But I'm used to it now and I do a combined reflexology and acupuncture which helps me feel good throughout so it's definitely better since I started that. Wishing you the very best...I'll keep you in my thoughts xxx
Thank you! This is my third transfer and I'm 4dp5dt now. I had some cramps first few days but nothing now other than feeling really tired xx can't wait to hear how you get on too

Hello Tryagain, I am 45, turning 46 next month and after having 2 failed cycles with my own eggs. I am considering doner eggs with hubby's sperm. Did you go for doner egg with hubby's sperm?
Please can you advise me of what tests I should get done prior to treatment, I'm considering going to Athens, also how was your experience in Spain also what is the cost for treatment . I'm very apprehensive just don't know what to expect.
I really wish you success, and hope you all goes well for you.
Hi there. So we went straight to double donor as we both had issues so we bypassed them all by using both egg and sperm donor. Would have loved to try with hubby sperm but it was not to be.
Spain has been great. We had a clinic in our own country which did all the liasing with them so we never had to deal with Spanish clinic directly. But they've been fab. Quick to progress.. to match donors ...to synch cycles...although I've heard Athens is great too. Spain is probably the same price as everywhere else in Europe but cheaper than at home. I can private message you with prices.
They just wanted EU bloods, a dummy cycle with meds to make sure lining responded, some internal scans to check womb. But every clinic different in what they require.
If you're going abroad it's really important to have a support clinic at home to to scans and bloods etc.
Wishing you the very best on your journey......I hope the donor eggs make the difference for you and bring success. It's very hard with your own eggs at our age.
Acupuncture definitely works physically and mentally if you are in good hands! Iβm working on my spleen still, where do you do it? I hope this is your time and you get to bring your baby home!
Awww thank you... and I'm so sorry about your recent BFN - you're had a really hard journey and I feel for you. Huge hugs xxxx
Wow you have been through so much and still sound so upbeat, you must be like a human pin cushion after all those injections and acu needles! Wishing you heaps of luck for this cycle, I really hope its the one you have been waiting for xx
