FET done but low progesterone

Had my FET today as embryo survived the thaw 👍 However I also got the results of the progesterone test I had yesterday, which was borderline at 25.1

They have given me Cyclocest to start tonight (added to Utrogestan I’m already on), but I can’t help feeling that’s a bit late? Has anyone had success with a FET with low progesterone?

I don’t know why they never checked it in my previous cycles 😕

Hi JuicyLu,

I had a progesterone test done on the day of my transfer and it came back low. I wasn’t able to get back to the clinic until the following day to pick up my prescription so didn’t start the new meds until then. I’m currently 6+4 so try not to worry too much. Starting it tonight should be totally fine! Xx

Glad it’s not just me! I can’t say I’m enjoying the rectal pessaries much, it looks like the bottom bit crumbles off a bit when you unwrap them but I opened a second and it did the same so guessing that’s normal 🤷🏼‍♀️

I have had issues with progesterone in the past and used different types. This is the first time I’ve used the injections and it’s been the most effective for me. I don’t think it’s too late, as I was topped up after my slightly low progesterone on transfer day and days later they tested me again and the numbers went up quickly. I hope this helps x

I wish I had injections tbh (not allowed on NHS cycle according to the clinic), less messy! 🤦🏼‍♀️😂

I know what you mean. The pain in the bum is pretty bad for me. But a lot of women on here aren’t effected as badly as me. I guess I’ll know if it has made a difference in test day xx

Hi there just to say I’m in the same boat as you had my transfer today and my bloods came back at 37.1 when they want to be 50. Gomooreow I will start cyclocest too. But they said it’s not too late don’t worry they said to me as long as get started the day after it should be fine. I too am wondering why we didn’t check before but trying to put that to one side and focus on we are doing the right thing this time. Good luck and fingers crossed for you xxx

Thanks. The numbers are confusing I find (I was told mine should ideally be 30 so maybe a different measuring scale?) but good to know you’ve also been told that adding extra progesterone after transfer is ok.

Good luck with your round 🤞🤞x
