Ok back again girls. I had my first round of IVF with icsi. Cycle started 4th of jan 2020. Had retrieval 16th and 5BB fresh transfer on the 21st Was beta hcg tested on the 30th which was a very sad and heartbreaking BFN nurses told me to stop taking pessarys. And should bleed / period in 2/3 days. Ok aunt flow was due on the 2nd of Feb and she come on time but with vengeance?! Or is this normal after failed cycle ? YeSterday was heavy clotty sorry TMI but today it’s like water and the pain are soo bad 😱 just worried if anyone has experienced this or should I be worried ?? Xxx

My period after my BFN was heavier and with more substance than usual. I would rarely take painkillers for period pain but I was in enough emotional pain so I medicated to avoid the pain. It was definitely far worse than usual. So sorry about your BFN. Take care of yourself in the next few days / weeks xx

Yeah mine was always bad after a BFN. I guess it might be from all the progesterone you’re pumping in that your lining is thicker and therefore you get a heavier period?!

Definitely take some painkillers and be kind to yourself, it should just be a one off. Big hugs xxx

Hi Judda. So sorry to hear hat this cycle hasn't worked for you. Unfortunately, the bleed following a negative test is often heavy, so no worries there for now. Hopefully when it has finished your next bleed will be what is normal for you. Thinking of you. Diane

It’s horrible feeling being told sorry the cycle didn’t work x thankfully I do have a frozen embryo from the cycle so I have appt on Thursday this week to talk about the steps of putting it in. So in a way I’m glad I’m having the bleed now plus heavy cause then at least I know it’s all clearing out so I can get ready for frozen try. Clinic said 4 week break ? So I’m presuming they will be saying to transfer frozen in March cycle ? But will know more on Thursday. I suppose aswell it was good that my bleed started the exact day I was due on period ? Maybe it didn’t upset my natural cycle ? Thank u x big hugs xx

Hi Judda, our stories sound quite similar. My first round of ICSI failed too, back in September/October - so upsetting :-( But like you I had one frozen embryo which they transferred in November and I am now 13 weeks pregnant! So I just wanted to say chin up because your BFP could be just around the corner xx
