It's the first time I am not getting my drugs through the clinic. Bit nervous about it and don't think I've even saved that much money, but got to try!
Two concerns, though:
1/ Asda took my prescription and I don't have a copy of it, so I'm not 100% sure what I've actually bought, but I'll find out soon enough when I go to pick them up!
2/ Some of the drugs said "repeat as needed" so I'm not getting the repeat now, but when doing the maths of the drugs on my schedule compared to what I think I've just bought, what I've bought is coming in under the amounts listed on my schedule. If that makes sense?

Don’t worry, I’ve bought fertility drugs from Asda a few times, it’s always been fine and they are meant to be the cheapest because they sell at cost price. You can also ask to see your prescription on collection to check too x
My clinic encourage using stork for this reason and usually charge £250 for a prescription but I’ve got away with a prescription for FET cycles and drugs after positive tests. I’ve bought lots of clexane and cyclogest there! I’ve heard they don’t supply needles with the injectables though. I’ve got loads of needles and syringes spare if you end up needing some xx
I used stork as it was way cheaper than asda. The only thing cheaper was cyclogest so I had to get a script with just that on. Stork give all injectable accessories but i dont think asda do. I didnt get my script back from asda but you could always ask to take a pic if they need to keep it xx
Hi Green. I remember Asda providing the needles and syringes (although not the sharps box). You may need to ask what your particular asda is providing or check what's on the prescription. Xx
Hi. I am a pharmacist and have had both private and NHS ivf. I would hope that what you pick up your meds it is for your first course of treatment. I would hope they have included the non drug stuff like sharps box, alcohol wipes syringes and needles as this is standard. The clinic should then advise whether you need to continue with specific medication and you should ask them when you collect more medication thereafter how long to keep taking it (repeat as needed is a little too vague for my liking). Hi, I've just had a read of your guide, thanks. As I said above, I ended up getting my meds from stork as they were charging way less than what asda had, plus I got syringes and sharps box etc. I thought Asda would be cheaper with only paying the cost of the meds. Asda quoted 1440 and stork 1150 x
My clinic uses them so my consultant's secretary emailed them a copy of my script. Then they got in touch with me. But i suppose you could always email them directly with your script. Or give them a call. They're based down south but delivery is free. You pick the date etc. You have to be home to sign. Mine was a £65 service charge but like I says it was still cheaper than asda, other than progesterone pessaries xx
I know you are a nurse but good luck with the injections. Injecting yourself is such a different experience to doing the patients. I had to keep telling myself of the end goal xxx
Haha I know! I sat there for a good 40 seconds with the needle near my skin and I couldnt do it, how bizarre, I never think twice when injecting a patient subcut 🙈 it's getting easier, although the bruising is coming out now. The smell of the menopur is helping too, it smells like insulin 🥰 thanks for your info xx
Sorry just seen this. I always take a pic of the prescription so that you have a record of it as the pharmacy will always take the prescription. When you go to pick it up you can do it then or they will do you a photocopy. I’ve always found ASDA to be brilliant as they have been cheaper than my clinic, who uses Stork and I did quite a bit of research. With regards to getting repeat drugs, if needed, you can always get it through your clinic if needed and they will always check with you if you have enough drugs (mine are always asking me!) So I’m sure you can get more once you’ve started. Good luck xx
