Will progesterone stop my period?

Hello lovely people, looking for your wisdom please.

I've had my second FET and am on progesterone (cyclogest twice a day) this time, as I bled several days before OTD on the last one (which was a completely natural FET).

I can't face doing a pregnancy test, so thought I might just wait and see if I get my period, but then suddenly thought what if it's delayed due to the progesterone? I don't want to get my hopes up thinking I'm pregnant if it's just the cyclogest.

What're others experiences please, did you still get your periods even when taking progesterone?

Hiya hun

Progesterone has always stopped my period coming except when it was low on 1st round and I spotted before test day.

All the best for test day xxx

Thank you hun

My period bled through the progesterone somehow! It was the day before test day though I suppose x

Hi lovely, I am the same as Lots88 - I spotted when my progesterone was too low on my 1st cycle, then it was upped and I’ve not bled through since xx

Thank you, hopefully it's a good thing I've not bled through mine yet then, at lease it means we're getting the progesterone levels right even if I'm not pregnant 🤞

Hi, when I had my first transfer I was on progesterone pessaries twice a day and had a full period before test day. I went on to have a frozen transfer but they kept my dose of progesterone the same. Good luck with the test x

Sorry to gate crash your conversation but the same happened in my last cycle and they have slightly upped my progesterone not by much for my frozen. Was just wondering if your frozen transfer was the same experience as your fresh? X

No luckily my frozen transfer was successful (on the same dose of progesterone) however have had some bleeding this week so waiting for a viability scan to see if everything is ok x

Hi, three days before otd I had a full period while on progesterone. When I asked the nurse about it, she said it was completely normal.

Thank you hun, it's so hard isn't it as we all seem to respond so differently

I had my BFN yesterday, didn’t take my progesterone after because I thought “what’s the point?” I had a bath and started cramping quite badly and felt like it was coming. Then the clinic finally rang me back about 3pm and told me to continue my meds because I haven’t bled. So back on the progesterone I went and my period didn’t come so I’m absolutely convinced that’s what’s stopping it.x

I'm so sorry about your BFN hun, and at the same time keeping my fingers and toes crossed it's one of those times when things turn around.

Thank you, I’m already 14dp5dt though so I’m not sure that’s possible. Got everything crossed for you that your period not coming is for reasons other than progesterone xx

I'm so sorry hun, the BFNs are just devastating aren't they.
