Hi lovely ladies, I don’t know if anyone here can give me any advice. My clinic from Cyprus has sent my prescription to their usual pharmacy that they used here in Uk. I’ve called the pharmacy for me to do payment for my prescription. I’ve been told by the pharmacist they cannot issued my prescription bcos they don’t have a doctor to verify my prescrition. They said they don’t have any doctor at the moment. They will have a doctor in a month or 2 months. I don’t know what to do now. And I need my medication. Any ladies here has been in this situation, can advised me what to do please.
Overseas prescription : Hi lovely... - Fertility Network UK
Overseas prescription
Ive used a pharmacy in London for this before....unsure if its the same place you use but I can PM you details to see if they would take it?! The other option may be, could they post you the original as that way you can take it to any pharmacy like Asda although I appreciate that would take a week or so?!xx
Hi Cinderella5 can you PM the pharmacy please. Thanks.
Will the pharmacy here accept an overseas prescription?
This is a problem having a dr abroad.... first time I needed a prescription I had so much trouble having them, finely my clinic in Spain give a pharmacy that they was working occasionally with, and paid only the delivery 70£...then luckily they give me few options (dr wise) and I choose the one I work now and I do all the test I need and prescription through him( but he work as I said with the clinic in Spain as well) is not cheap process but no one wanted to help me even I wanted to pay for it.... so frustrating
Hope you will find the best way to have your treatment
Xxxxx
Hi Dane, that’s the problem most of doctors won’t be happy to just verify a prescription from another country. Well I hope my clinic will be able to sort it out. Otherwise I just need to cancel my treatment again or don’t even bothered to do it all.
I had the same issue, found out my clinic (and I think most of the oversees clinics) work with online pharmacies. I use Stork. The clinic email a prescription to Stork directly and they courier me the meds the next day (providing order and payment made before 2pm). They charge £40 admin fee.
Might be worth checking with your clinic. They are likely set up with Stork or one of the other online fertility pharmacies. X
You can use fertility2u. Your clinic emails them over the prescription. Some Asda pharmacies also do IVF prescriptions but you need your clinic to send you the original in the post, using the English names for the medication. There's also a pharmacy in Shadwell, London that does private, IVF prescriptions.
There are variations in price. I went to get my decapeptyl injection and it was going to cost £149. With Asda, it's only £69 so it's worth shopping around.
The pharmacy in Shadwell allowed me to get the medication with a printed out prescription and I will hand in the original prescription when I receive it.
We used fertility2u for our overseas prescription. It was really straight forward - emailed over the copy of the prescription and then cc’d the clinic into the email so they could get authorisation from the doctor at the clinic xx
We did our thirds (and only successful) round of Ivf in Cyprus. The clinic coordinators were so helpful. I would contact them in the first instance and explain and see if they can suggest an alternative pharmacy.
I am using a clinic in Barcelona & they email me a prescription which my local G.P then writes me a pen & ink prescription which Asda pharmacy can then accept.
I will hopefully begin my FET July/Aug so I will be doing this again soon.
Good luck & I hope you can get your prescription soon xxx
Thank you ladies for the replies. I’ve tried 2 pharmacies. One doesn’t do prescription from north Cyprus bcos they are not part of EEA. Awaiting for the other pharmacy to reply, which taking forever 😔.
Best thing either get the original...but make sure its in English...as you will be able to get prescription anywhere then.
I would use Stork...hassle free for £40 admin fee.
Good luck...don't give up...xx
Hi ladies, all pharmacies here Uk that I’ve contacted doesn’t take prescription from countries which are not part of EEA. At the end I had go to a private doctor to verify my prescription, which cost £60. Hopefully next week I will get my medication. Thanks.x
