Prepping for FET tommorow

Hi guys, just wanted to ask about my FET tommorow. Do I have to go completely make up and deodorant free? Also how full does my bladder have to be as last time I drank loads and nearly wet myself yet my Dr said my bladder was 'rubbish' 😭 does everyone else get up straight after they transfer the embryo or stay lying down for 5 mins or so? ♥️💫🤗

Hi Littlepeax,

I don’t think it’s as strict as egg collection. I did avoid perfume and deodorant but I had make up on.

I always drink too much 😂 I think it’s better to drink too much then too little. Half a litre is my normal amount in the hour before.

You can normally pee and leave straight after x

Haha I drink alot too but constantly pee aswell! Find it very hard to keep it in as causes me pain cause of my endo 🙄 Ah ok thanks so much for your reply. How are you getting on? When do you find out? ♥️💫

No problem 😊

I’m slowly going insane 🤪 my official test day is Tuesday 28th which is a blood test but they’ve said I can do a home test on Sunday if I want. Both feel forever away! 😂

Littlepeax in reply toKiboXX

Oh that is a while away! My FET is tomorrow and my blood test is the following Weds 29th so I only have to wait just over a week. Wonder why they are so different 🤔 have you had any symptoms? You been keeping busy? Xx

Oh wow, that is weird! I thought that was normal wait time 😂 I’ve only ever done fresh transfer before and it’s a new clinic 🤷🏼‍♀️

No none really, super sore boobs but that’s definitely from the Lubion! X

They said no problem about having makeup on to me. I did avoid perfume, though.

I've always felt I had to get up immediately! I never thought about staying lying down, but I would love to do that to make me feel even better about the procedure!

Yes I might say I'm not moving for a good 20 mins or so lol they will probs want me to get up straight away though like last time xxx

I had deodorant and a little bit of makeup on lol. First transfer i was told to get up straight away, my last transfer was a different guy and he told me to lie down for 5 minutes and just chatted and joked with me and my husband. I don't think it matters either way tbh x

Littlepeax in reply toLilac12

Thanks hun, I'm going to try and stay lying down for a bit lol ♥️💫

I was told I could wear make up etc just no strong perfumes. I usually sip all the way to the clinic (1hr drive) then have to wee as soon as I arrive then have to guzzle lots more water! We get to change into a lovely theatre gown and a little blue hat for the procedure and they make me get up and walk away straight after. My consultant joked I wasn’t allowed any special treatment and I was to carry on as normal. I’ve had 3 transfers now and I’m always in and out within half an hour. Good luck! X

I drank a pint of water an hour before n was desperate for a wee so went wen I arrived n just drank 2 small cups from hospital dispenser 30mins before n my bladder was still full! My consultant said it make no difference wether you lye or get up. I ran for a wee after!

I Didnt use perfume and deodorant before but took it with to put on! Good luck x

Hey lovely!

Good luck for tomorrow! So the amount you need actually depends where your uterus sits. You need a full bladder so it pushes your uterus up so it’s a lot easier for the dr to get to (otherwise it’s at a tight angle). Due to having a catheter for many months, my bladder is v v weak, so they were very considerate, but at the end of the day, they will work round you! What they will do, is scan you. If not full enoug, they will send you back out and keep checking until adequate (well that’s what they do at my clincic)

After our transfer was completed they asked me to lay down for five mins... but that went very quickly lol!

Gooooood luck!

I’m always rubbish at judging the amount and drink too much out of fear it’s not enough. So I’m also so desperate I have to leg it to the toilet immediately after the transfer. It would be nice to stay and chat for 5 mins if only I could get the amount right - maybe one day! 🤣 Wishing you lots of luck for tomorrow xxx

Thank you ♥️💫🤗

I was told to wee an hour before and then drink 5 glasses of water and a tea or coffee in the hour leading up to transfer. My bladder wasn't full enough for my last transfer according to consultant who looked at images after. The transfer specialist didn't say anything but as it didn't work i'm going to follow consultant's specific instructions this time round.

Hey. I had a small amount of make up on - I have semi permanent eyelashes on and just put some concealer on my Unslightly spots! I had a shower that morning and didn’t wear any deodorant nor lotions or cosmetics from there. Good luck lovely x

Hi,

I went with a little make up and deodorant on, I wouldn’t worry about that. Having a full bladder is the hardest part, just try drink as much as possible an hour before.

I got up as soon as the transfer was over and went to the toilet.

How are you getting on? Wishing you the best of luck for today! Iv just been through a FET and I’m now nearly 5 weeks pregnant! Proof that it does work!

Will be thinking of you! X
