Hi all,
From what I've read AMH of 17.8 is ok (I'm 37), what does everyone think? Just looking for some reassurance I guess!
Thanks

That sounds like a decent AMH for your age. There is obviously quite a range but this is higher than what mine was at 38 which was 7.19. Try not to get too hung up on numbers though as its not necessarily a clue os success. Ive seen some ladies on here with really low AMH have pregnancies so its not everything! Good luck.xx
Very good mine is only 14 and I’m 31. Keep positive. Very good results xxxx
It doesn’t really mean that much. I am just 30 and mine was 15.8
. When I asked about it, the consultant told me I was in the ‘autumn of fertility’. Safe to say, winter being around the corner plagued the whole of that cycle, but I got 9 day-5 embryos from our last round 🤷🏻♀️
Mine was 12.2, one chemical from fresh round of ivf and the frostie round has my bean kicking about in my tummy as we speak. My amh contradicted my other results so sometimes it's best just to stay positive and crack on xxx
Mine was just slightly higher than yours at age 38 and I’m now 24 weeks pregnant! Good luck x
Mines 3.4 😂😢 I’m nearly 40 since 37 I’ve had 3 mc at 12/13w and a chemical
I'm 34 and my AMH is 9. 1 spontaneous pregnancy 2 years ago after trying fir 6 years, had a MC at 10 weeks.
Waiting for Ivf very soon.x
Thanks for your reply, so sorry for your losses, sending you lots of love and positive vibes xx
I've had mine tested at 38 and with one ovary only it was 8.88. Its a measure of ovarian reserve and gives the drs an idea at what stims dosage to start you on in treatment. I started on 300 of menopur that round.
My AMH has now dropped to 4 at 41 (no surprise as for everyone it takes a drop around 35 and 40). My menopur dose this cycle is the maximum 450.
I thought if I had an AMH of 4, that corresponded to having 4 follicles on a round of ivf, because that's what happened last time (8.88 AMH, 8 follicles, 5 eggs collected, 3 mature) but was told today at my scan where I have 7 follicles in play that AMH is only a measure of reserve and nothing to do with the amount of follicles or eggs they expect.
What AMH isn't, is a measure of egg quality. That again, unfortunately tumbles with age
That’s definitely a good number. My AMH is 19 I therefore thought from the way the doctors were talking ‘I was a perfect candidate’ and that ‘IVF stims would be relatively straightforward’, unfortunately this hasn’t been the case for me. Even with a good AMH I’ve failed to respond properly to 3 cycles all of which have been abandoned. I’m now on a protocol usually if you have an AMH less than 4 it seems to be working though and hopefully egg collection will be Monday 🤞🏼🤞🏼. My point is the same as everyone else’s don’t buy into the numbers too much. IVF in someways seems like a lottery.
Good luck when you start!
Xx
Thanks! Yep I'm just gonna put it in the box of things I know now and not think about it, many other things to worry about haha! x
