Can someone explain these results. It says AMH 3.7

Apparently its meant to be between 5-35. Is that a percentage? I know the number represents ovarian reserve, but in what capacity?

Also confused at the IVF response bit

And now im worried this means i will go through menopause soon, someone please tell me im overreacting

It usually indicates that you may require a higher dose of drugs for IVF and your response as in the number of follicles and or eggs may not be very high. Ive seen a fair few ladies on here manage to go ahead and have babies with low AMH levels so try not to be too disheartened although I know thatis really difficult. Have you thoug about trying DHEA and Ubiquinol to improve egg quality?xx

You can get these supplements on line. Quite a few ladies on here have dabbled in vitamins etc before their cycle. You can have a chat with your clinic and see what their thoughts are on it. I got my DHEA through biovea, it helped with my egg quality though sadly we didnt get our baby and have moved onto donor eggs but Im a bit older than you!xx

I thought exactly the same, mines only 2.6 but anything above 1 is ok for ivf but ive seen it work for people even below that, mine was 2.6 over a year ago, then a few month ago had to get it re done to start our first cycle and it had stayed exactly the same i was so happy it hadn't gone down, I got 4 follicles from that also, i was on the highest dose of medication xx

So now u have the 4 follicles is that it? You have no more left? Im so confused. Because i was told maybe only one chance at IVf with my eggs, why not more? What medication was you on? X

in reply toH0pe2

Why only one chance? I only ended up getting 2 eggs from my right ovary the left ovary didnt end up having any, i had an operation when i was younger on my left ovary so that obviously doesn't work anymore which gives me less chance aswell, my eggs was both good and both got put back in me on day 3 but unfortunately none of them worked, we are having our 2nd go in february now, not sure why it didnt work as i dont have any fertility issues, could be a number of things but we will go through all this at my follow up appointment xx

I’m not sure of your age but my AMH was really low it was 4 when I was 32 & that was 5 years agoni was told it was the equivalent to a 40 year old 😳 I freaked out big time! Anyway I fell twice naturally after my endo was diagnosed & treated- first time I fell in 2017 at 35 was a chemical pregnancy & then fell at 36 & had my daughter Francesca at 37 . God knows how low my AMH is now. Just because your AMH doesn’t mean you can’t have conceive & have a successful pregnancy.

No I don’t think you are menopausal just means you might need more stimulation for ivf.

In answer to your question ie DHEA it isn’t licensed in UK so you would have to buy it online from USA biovea is where I got mine ( I took it a month or 2 before I conceived Francesca ) you should also check with your clinic if it’s safe for you to take. Good luck xxx

Thanks for the reply lots of helpful information. I’m 32 so also young to have that low AMH and most definitely freaking out 😂

I have my Laprascopy soon (within 5 weeks) so i suppose i have to see what they find.

Did your Clinic advise it even though it isn’t licensed here in the UK?

Congratulations on your little girl 🥰xx

I too had the same thought about menopause. I totally freaked out! The first consultant I had made me think it was imminent, I left her office in tears. The amazing consultant I ended up with (No 3) said that it was rubbish and I more than likely had years left. Xx

Hi. I did my amh 1 year ago at almost 39 and it was 0,94 with 1 ovary. Started ivf preparations and the main procedure at the beginning of this year. I did short protocol with minimum dose which was increased towards the end of the protocol. I got 5 follicles, 5 mature eggs, 4 fertilised and obtained 2 5-day blasts. Transferred one and I am now 37 weeks pregnant, almost giving birth.

Good luck!
