Please call your clinic soon but I feel it's normal
I had this from 6 weeks until I was 14 weeks ( even lost fresh blood with clots at 10 weeks) when I was pregnant with my little girl. The midwife wasn’t at all concerned by brown blood as it was old blood? But for your peace of mind I would contact your GP or early pregnancy assessment unit for a early scan ( mine requires a gp referral but some you can self refer) I never found the cause of bleeding except it wasn’t anything to do with my baby & midwives said spotting is very common in pregnancy only if it’s accompanied with severe abdominal pain & full heavy bleeding should it be more of a concern. I was told by gp to bed rest ( as it kept happening) also the gp knew how much the pregnancy meant to me( and had gone through fertility issues himself before having his children) xxx
So the clinic don’t seem to be overly concerned which is good she said it will be the hormones softening the cervix and not usually a concern. If it is heavy bleeding then I would need to take a pregnancy test the day after.
But it’s stopped now so hopefully all good. Scan on the 30th x
I had pink-brownish spotting from 5 weeks until I was 15 weeks. Even had bright red bleeding at 12 weeks (it was like having my period). I’m currently 32 weeks pregnant with twins).
Doctor told me to rest and not to worry as long as it was brownish spotting.
After the bright red bleeding at 12 weeks I found out that the probable cause of my bleedings were the fact that my placentas were laying low.
I had the same thing but I’d been warned by the clinic that it would happen - for me it last about two days. Please double check but in the experience I’ve had I think it’s the same thing- just an implantation bleed. Xxxx
I had the same thing when I was about 5-6 weeks pregnant, not sure if it was the pessaries or possibly old blood from implantation bleeding potentially?? Fingers crossed -try and keep distracted. And try to enjoy these early times if you can as being excited isn’t going to jinx it xxx
If it's bright red it is fresh blood and you may be bleeding, but brown blood is dried blood, usually the residue from a period, but means you are not likely to be bleeding now. I would try not to worry, but perhaps had a word with your midwife if you are still worrying. Even when I was bleeding fresh blood there was nothing wrong and I went full term.
Just adding to the reassurance that brown blood is old blood and probably nothing to worry about but contact your GP/ midwife if you're worried about absolutely anything. I didn't have treatment or pessaries so I appreciate it may be different. Good luck!
