Progesterone? How much after embryo transfer

Canadawaterchick profile image

Hey lovelies, please can you help! So I’m taking pessaries 3 times a day (200mg each), I haven’t had any other progesterone tests but should I push the docs to do a test? Am I taking enough or should I increase the dose? Any help appreciated xxx

I was supposed to be on cuclogest but twice a day but they were out of stock so gave my utrogestan three times a day but only amounts to 600 mg! I am going to ask for more xx

I started off on 5 utrogestan per day but when progesterone was tested a week after transfer Dr wasn't happy with the levels and put me up to 8 /day!! I would push for a check after transfer. Good luck xxx

Thanks so much! For some reason the hospital don’t want to do a blood test, I find that very odd!! Xxx

I would try to push for them to be checked....I used to be on 2x400mg of progesterone and discovered that's not enough for me! I must add most ladies get away with this and I may be an oddity but if you can have them checked then you'll get peace of mind.xx

Can I ask how you realised it wasn’t enough? I’ve had issues with my cycles due to early progesterone drop off xx

In my OE cycle I bled early, always 7dp5dt....I was on crinone gel at that time and my NHS clinic said it wasnt possible for my levels to be too low. When I moved onto private I got put on the 800mg of cyclogest daily. My last 2 cycles were BFP but first one I spontaneously lost at 6wks. The next time we had my levels checked when I had my hCG checked and it was really low and too low to sustain a pregnancy so we have upped it for this one to 800mg cyclogest daily and 1 lubion 25mg injection every second day. My levels will be checked on transfer day and progesterone upped again if necessary. However as I said before this isnt common and I may just be an oddity but a few ladies recently have experienced low progesterone recently....heres another post.xx

Me too. I'm new to this platform and only recently posted anything. It's given me so much info. Wish I'd done it sooner! X

Hey! They never told me what my levels were and now that I’ve read your post, I wonder if I should know too.

They’ve given me injections every other day and 3 times daily with the suppositories.

How often do they or should they be checking in the 2WW. They never checked the last time either

I’d triple confirm why they put you on that dose and be sure that’s the one. Just to be triple sure there’s no harm whatsoever right xx
