Spotting 2dpo

Hi all. Its been a while since I've been on here, and I want to wish everyone the best of luck with your journeys, and congratulations to those who have got their BFP!

Back to my post. We were lucky enough to fall pregnant with assisted treatment nearly 2 years ago, and have a beautiful little girl as a result of that miracle. My problem then was a luteal phase defect. I was spotting 5dpo and needed progesterone to stop that, get me pregnant and support a pregnancy in the early weeks. We have always wanted 2 children, and with the problems we faced first time round, decided it was best not to wait. As soon as my periods returned, we started trying again. Unfortunately this time round I am starting to spot 2dpo. Last time, I wouldn't have started taking the cyclogest until this point so I'm feeling kind of helpless. Can I please ask those who are going through IVF, at what point do you start taking progesterone? Is it immediately after egg collection? Or a few days afterwards? Has anyone else experienced spotting so soon after ovulation? One idiotic doctor during four original journey told me that the spotting wouldn't happen if I got pregnant, unfortunately the spotting then was stopping implantation. This time it seems like there is no hope even with progesterone 😞

We were told to start the progesterone 2 days after egg collection. I’ve also had spotting around and slightly after ovulation whey trying naturally. Every time I’ve tried to discuss it with various medical professionals I’ve felt they’ve been quite dismissive and just said it’s “normal”, which didn’t really sit right with me bearing in mind our difficulties conceiving and our multiple losses. Hope you get some answers and have success xx

Thank you for your reply. I have a gp appointment later and am fully expecting to be told it's simply ovulation spotting. Which would be slightly more believable if it didn't continue for 2 weeks! I'm sorry you've been fobbed off with this before as well. I'll try to time cyclogest to perfection, no more or less than 48 hours after ovulation, should be interesting! Good luck with this cycle, I hope at least one of your embies has made itself at home xx
