So was on the cusp of being over stimulated after egg collection this time and was put on cetrotide and cabergoline for a week. The headaches started 2 days before egg collection and have continued all throughout. It’s now 2 weeks after egg collection and I’ve still got them. My clinic say that the hormones should have settled down by now and as I’ve had a period they don’t know what else to suggest and have suggested going to my GP. My GP won’t do anything and it takes a month to get in to see them anyway!!
Anyone else had this and got any advice please? I drink a tonne of water so it’s definitely not that.

Hey, sorry your suffering. Have you tired reflexology? I found that really helped when I had headaches from the drugs and also helped detox. I think it can take a while for the hormones to go and your body to settle back down. Xx
Hey no I haven’t actually. Had quite a lot of acupuncture over this whole process (although not recently) but haven’t tried reflexology. Thanks for suggesting. I will look into it today x
I still have the headaches at 19 weeks pregnant . No one is really concerned, I have been given propranolol to try help, had baby aspirin before but didn’t do much x
Hi Raejay, my consultant prescribed me it for headaches, it’s supposed to help stop them being frequent . One a day, however you do require extra monitoring as it can make the baby smaller so it’s only recommended if necessary. You should speak to consultant and see what they suggest x
Clinic said it was fine. But if you google it it says may have risks so I guess it depends who you speak to. And I think there hasn’t been many trials done so they don’t really know. Thanks for reply x
Yes there is risks when pregnant so that’s why you would need to be given them by the hospital consultant and monitored closely, I have extra scans and bloods done frequently but so far all has been fine. Best wishes x

Hey hifer I had another egg collection today and was also on the cusp of hyperstimuation, I was just prescribed some cabergoline for a week. Did you experience side effects outside of the headaches e.g. dizziness from it?
No, just headaches (and abdominal pain which is pretty standard.) No dizziness. To be honest I went back for a review with my consultant as I was really worried about them. He said that he really didn’t think it would be the drugs at this stage. They will be clear of my system. They have actually gone now anyway and I actually believe they were stress headaches. Now I’m back to exercising and not worrying so much (and not in so much pain) I haven’t taken painkillers for a while now. X
Great to hear you're doing better. Where are you at with your treatment now, are you getting ready for transfer? I have opted for PGS this time around and I really hope to be done with egg collections.
You and me both lovely. I’m not sure I can face another egg collection!! My last one was pretty tough. I have 2 good embryos from PGS testing, 2 that need further testing, and 5 that were not viable. I have to have an aqua scan this month and then we will transfer next month. Wishing you the very best for a speedy recovery and excellent results from your testing xx
I got 31 eggs (?!) but I have no idea yet how many are actually mature and how many will fertilise. I would be happy with 14 mature eggs and 9 fertilised! Looks like you had a great conversion ratio from fertilised eggs to blastocysts!
Wow!!! That’s amazing! I was told that if I’d had 20 eggs I may have been hospitalised for OHSS. It’s so strange how everyone is so so different. The woman in the clinic next to me had 33 eggs collected and she looked fabulous after egg collection! It’s all so personal as you say. Everything crossed for your phone call in the morning x
They looked at my Oestradiol levels 36h before egg collection and they weren't extremely high (14000), on this basis alone, they decided that my risk was low. Because I did proactively ask about how the suddenly high number of eggs could lead to increased risk, they prescribed some cabergoline to me for a week. Hadn't I said anything, they would have left me walk away without anything .
