Egg collection went seriously wrong

Hello everyone,

I just wanted to share a very scary experience during our 2nd egg collection. I am currently in hospital following my egg collection due to both of my ovaries causing internal bleeding. I just wanted to raise some awareness as due to this being our second cycle I knew the pain when I came round from the egg collection was not normal. It took the clinic around 4 hours to transfer me to hospital due to them thinking it could be my bladder. Anyway please just go with what your body is telling you and I make sure you get checked if you don’t feel right after the collection.

I was lucky to get rushed into emergency surgery, to stop the internal bleeding and they managed to save my ovaries. I have 4 scars across my belly, which I don’t care about, I’m just glad to be alive.

Thanks for your reply and support. Unfortunately I’m too weak due to having two blood transfusions so I have to wait to see if any of my eggs can be frozen x

Wow, that went majorly wrong. Must have been terrifying. Hope you have a speedy recovery and they can freeze your eggs for when you're feeling better. X

This sounds just awful!! You poor thing. Do they know why this happened?? Crazy that both of them bled like this 😱 Wishing you a speedy recovery but do take it slowly and rest up 👍
