Progynova- am I taking the right thing?

Hello, looking for some advice if possible. I know no one should compare IVF cycles but I seem to be on a bit of a weird cycle from what I can tell. I'm doing IVF on the NHS and am on my first cycle. They told me to wait 21 days, then take progynova for ten days and then go for a scan. They haven't told me more than that but I do have other meds too which I assume I will take after the scan. I know that they wanted me on a low dose of meds as I have really high amh so they said they would put me on a similar cycle as those with PCOS so that I don't get hyperstimulation. The one reason I am worrying is that progynova seems to be for thickening the lining of the womb and for when you are ready to implant before a FET. Now I am worried I misheard the nurse on the phone - I was 100 percent sure she said prognova but it doesn't seem to be right. Am I taking the wrong drugs in the wrong order? Any one been through a similar cycle and can reassure? Many thanks!

Hiya, I have just done my first round ivf through the NHS and did exactly the same. Day 21 start progynova. I only took it for 6 days, then had a scan, then they showed us how to do the injections on the same day and 2 days later we started Meriofert.

Don’t worry, it’s right! X

Thank you for replying! I know I am asking a lot of questions but when I ring the hospital they don't answer so am a little lost and confused. I am seven days in and scan on Thursday but seem to have got my period today. Am I right in thinking that the progynova should stop that? Did you still get a period? Any light you can shed would be greatful as the nurses don't tell you anything and I'm still waiting for a call back.

I started progynova on day 21 too. Like you I remember being really panicked because I couldn’t find a single story of someone who had done the same but it was right!

Good luck x

Hi infertilemyrtle. It looks to me as if you are having the progynova to down regulate before starting your stimulation medication. It's switching everything off so that they can scan you to see whether you are "good to go". Good luck! Diane

It’s always good to ask questions! So i was told it’s normal to bleed on the Progynova and likely after too. I bled the day I stopped. Then had 1 day break before staring the injections. It all sounds pretty normal to me. Xxx

That's great - phew! I think I missed a meeting with the nurses where they told you this stuff. Thank you so much that has put my mind at ease a bit.
