Hey everyone, I’m just starting my third round of IVF after a BFN and faint BFP followed by miscarriage.
After starting Progynova on Weds, I felt some weird cramping yday so decided to do an early pregnancy test (first response). I got a faint positive (still in shock) - period is due on Tues.
I’m worried that it’s just a chemical and if I call to ask the clinic, they’ll cancel my cycle. I feel like if i wait until period due date would be better… But I don’t know whether I should continue to take the Progynova whilst I’m potentially pregnant.
Has anyone had this, or can provide advise? Thanks!!

Sorry to ask but could it be that you are still testing positive from the prior pregnancy? Sometimes it can take a very long time for the HCG to leave the system entirely (that happened to me) and even when you've had a bleed there may still be something left or the hormones are still raised. Hopefully not but just in case. If it is a new BFP (and congratulations!) then I think call your clinic, or your GP if you don't want to tell the clinic, and ask re progynova.I was on it for my FET and the first 10 weeks of pregnancy so it certainly can be safe in early pregnancy but I was also on progesterone and it may be important that there's a balance. Fingers' crossed ☘️
Thanks for the quick reply… no not from the miscarriage as it was in May and I had blood tests to confirm it was over.
Good to know you’ve taken it during pregnancy, maybe it’ll be ok for a few more days then but you bring up a good point re progesterone. I’m usually on that for IVF rounds so may want to be on it too. I’ll try and call my doctor
I definitely see a line, it is hard to say until you repeat this test on Monday and see if the line turns pink as it should. I’ve never had a ghost line with First response, I think they are very reliable and I feel it is a real positive. Best of luck and let us know! Xxx
Wow, that does look like a positive!! Hope it keeps getting darker when you retest. As others have said above, you continue taking progynova for a while after a BFP from a frozen transfer so I don't see that it will be a problem, but your clinic will confirm when you call them on Monday. Hope it's the real deal and continues to go well xxx
