Egg freezing / fertility preservation

Has anyone here done egg freezing? I’ve done 2 failed IVF ICSI cycles this year (and never had any embryos to freeze). We have been told it is likely our male factor issues so we need to spend more time testing and potentially treating this which will mean time out from doing a proper IVF ICSI cycle for quite a few months. So I was thinking about batching up some eggs during this time. I’m concerned about my ageing eggs too so sooner is better right? Is this crazy? Has anyone else thought about doing this? I’ve been reading that the newer vitrification freezing techniques are better for the eggs so results are improving with these treatments as historical stats are limited / pretty discouraging.

I haven head great things about egg freezing to be honest, it take a good load of eggs to have success apparently and its pretty expensive. The most successful thing is to freeze emrbyos although from what you're said that isnt an option. Have they said what they intend to do for your OH and how long it might take? Have you yourself tried improving egg quality with taking DHEA and ubiquinol?

I posted a while back about an article re frozen eggs.....link to my post below.xx

Hi Cinderella5, thanks for the link. We’re waiting on the results of his dna fragmentation test to come back to help us decide next steps. Hubby also has a varicocele, another contentious area I believe with some doctors recommending embolism and others advising it doesn’t impact fertility. So hard to figure out what we should do next!!

Hi Shirazlover. This would only be considered if your hormone levels are satisfactory and you are under 36 years of age. Do read the article that "Cinderella"has mentioned. I wish you well with any decisions you come to . Diane
