Am new to this forum. Was diagnosed with endometriosis early this year. Ive has my laparoscopy 6 days ago and healing well. I was advised by my consultant to get a referral to for IVF. I have been TTC for over a year and a bit and now know why it was hard. As I turn 40 in March, what are my chances for NHS funded. IVF and if I was to get my eggs frozen roughly how much am I looking to spend.
Thanks in advance.

I looked in to freezing eggs with a private clinic and was working out about 12k but theres always more to consider.
My option was to freeze embryos instead, I’d say this is the better option for you too as we are the same age and would be using them sooner rather than later and also embryos apparently survive being frozen better than eggs.
I only went private because I’m doing this as a single parent - I’m not sure what the IVF via NHS restrictions are but the ladies here will be able to help.
Good luck and ask away if you have any questions xxx
Thanks CLDxxx, I hadn’t looked into or considered freezing embryos, thanks , something to think about. I have an appointment with my GP regarding referral to fertility on the 24th, might ask his opinion on this.
The guidelines vary by health authority area but in my area 38 was the upper limit for NHS funded IVF and there’s other criteria such as you/your partner can’t have any existing children - my age / my partner having one child already - so ruled out on both counts!!
Freezing embryos I think would be a good idea as someone else suggested and get on with privately funded IVF as soon as you can to have the best chance of success.
Thank you! My partner and I donor have any children. We have been trying for just about 2 years now. It was only this year that I found out I have endometriosis and that could have been the reason.
